Role Introduction

Reports to: Senior Solution Lead   

Join Cathay as a Solution Lead in our Engineering Solution Centre, where you will manage advanced aircraft maintenance systems that streamline operations and enhance the experience for our people across our global network.

Leverage your expertise to lead technical delivery, ensuring we deliver on our brand promise and drive organizational success—together with our global Engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pre-project consulting for a portfolio pipeline of initiatives
  • Capture and communicate business direction, challenges, and requirements
  • Recommend commercially and technically viable ideas to improve business performance
  • Work closely with developers, analysts, and architects to develop the best technical design
  • Plan, design, develop, implement, and support IT products and applications to meet customer needs
  • Provide an escalation point for solution analysts to deliver business solutions
  • Initiate, define, plan, and execute tasks/initiatives
  • Test all solution aspects including security, performance, and integration
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the software development team and external 3rd parties as required
  • Coach Solution Analysts on any aspect of their role

Requirements

  • Degree qualification in Information Technology or related discipline; Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in information technology, including software development, system analysis, business analysis, solution definition, and system testing
  • Experience in client-facing roles with successful relationship management is an advantage
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional, passionate, innovative, and self-motivated approach
  • Ability to present solutions to diverse groups of stakeholders
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, using both logic and creativity
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify patterns and generate ideas
  • Knowledge of the airline or travel industry is highly beneficial
  • Solid software development skills are highly beneficial
