Role Introduction

We have a Cargo Manager opportunity to lead a dedicated cargo team to execute commercial strategies, surpass revenue targets, and drive service standards, all while ensuring absolute compliance with safety and operational requirements.

This is a fantastic opportunity to step up and make a meaningful impact by delivering operational excellence and building strong relationships with customers, partners, and regulatory bodies. The successful candidate will be proactive, adaptable to changing priorities, and hands-on in supporting both the team and our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the local cargo team to deliver on revenue targets and commercial KPIs, aligning with regional and head office strategies
  • Develop and execute local sales plans, monitor performance, and drive new revenue opportunities across various channels
  • Ensure seamless communication between local teams and regional offices, sharing market insights and implementing directives
  • Continuously improve operational and commercial efficiency, including manpower planning and cost management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies, industry partners, and key customers to represent company interests
  • Oversee team development, performance management, and succession planning to foster a motivated and high-performing workforce
  • Ensure full compliance with safety, security, and regulatory standards, promoting a zero-tolerance culture for incidents
  • Drive service excellence by managing supplier performance, reviewing audits, and supporting operational setup and changes
  • Act as the Operational Duty Holder, accountable for safe and compliant cargo operations, including oversight of contracted services
  • Support emergency, accident, and crisis response responsibilities as required

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in cargo, airline or related industry, of which at least 4 years is in a management role
  • Knowledge of, and experience in the cargo/freight forwarding environment
  • Proven success in building, maintaining and leading a team with sales and operation functions
  • Established track record in meeting or exceeding sales and revenue targets
  • Demonstrate ability in successful business relationship building
  • Strong people and problem-solving skills
  • Leads, embraces and adapts to constant change
