Role Introduction

Reports to: Sustainable Development Manager

The temporary position is intended to support one-off tasks that facilitate the planning and execution of the World Sustainability Symposium 2025 (WSS 2025). The role will involve close collaboration with project teams at GSD, as well as multiple internal stakeholders and external parties such as IATA, HKTB, production house, hotel etc. Deliverables including logistics, scheduling, and on-site support. In addition, the role will contribute to the creation and refinement of the Cathay Sustainable Event Guide, ensuring best practices during WSS2025 are documented and implemented.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the end-to-end planning and delivery of WSS 2025, including logistics, scheduling, and on-site support
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with sustainability goals and event expectations
  • Contribute to the creation and refinement of the WSS 2025 Sustainable Event Guide, ensuring best practices are documented and implemented
  • Provide ad hoc support on other sustainable development projects as assigned by the Sustainable Development Manager

Requirements

  • Familiarity with Cathay’s organizational structure and ability to quickly navigate complex stakeholder environments is essential
  • Relevant working experience in environmental management, sustainable development, or aviation will be a definite advantage
  • Proven experience in project coordination or management
  • Strong communication skills for effective engagement with internal and external stakeholders
  • Prior experience in organizing large-scale or mega events will be considered an advantage
  • Must be fluent in spoken and written English and Cantonese
