Role Introduction

Reports to: Application Manager

This role is part of the Solution Centre in our Information Technology (IMT) department who strive for continuous improvements so that we can provide you with a seamless experience with Cathay.

As the Solution Analyst, you will analyze requirements and assess detailed solutions options from a system perspective.

You will play a crucial role in translating business requirements into functional and technical specifications. You will be involved in collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders to design, develop, and enhance software applications, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, user-friendly applications which align with the company’s vision and goals.

With your expertise, skills and knowledge in solution delivery, you will be assigned to our subsidiaries solution team, contributing major transformation projects within our subsidiary bodies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plans and coordinates activities of IT Operation projects to ensure that goals or objectives of projects are accomplished within prescribed time frames and funding parameters
  • Work with both internal and external resources to design, build IT Operation platform and services and implement them to production on time, within budget and with good quality
  • Analyse requirements and assess detailed solutions options from a system perspective
  • Support solution design and contribute expertise and detailed knowledge to ensure high level design decisions are able to be delivered
  • Cross-teams ad cross-department collaboration to drive technology innovation to achieve Business Unit strategic plan and business objectives
  • Collaborate with Project Management Practice Manager to implement project management practice across all IT projects
  • Adopt best practices, processes and methodologies of project management and ensure compliance
  • Attention to detail, and ability to organise and prioritize workload
  • Communicate and escalate risks and issues clearly and concisely and to support management with the preparation of action plans
  • Contribute expertise in supporting the development of technical specification

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience are essential
  • A minimum of 6 years of IT with at least 3 years in application development and support
  • Well-developed analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, leveraging both logic and creativity; strong troubleshooting skills; ability to identify patterns and generate ideas
  • Knowledge of the following disciplines: project and program delivery, portfolio management, change management, infrastructure development management, vendor management, financial management
  • Proven experience in coordiateing project tasks with ability to multitask
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills as well as ability to present and explain technical information in a way that gains understanding
  • With technical skill in software development experience (SQL, API and Java are essential but not necessary)
  • Hands on technical development and implementation is required
