Role Introduction

Reports to: Solution Lead / Senior Solution Lead

This position sits within the Information Technology (IMT) Department Subsidiary Solution Centre, specifically Cathay Dining, one of our subsidiaries, which drives Cathay’s inflight catering and other associated operations. The Subsidiary Solution Centre is committed to delivering innovative, scalable, and secure technology solutions that enhance member engagement, streamline loyalty operations, and enable data-driven personalization throughout the customer lifecycle.

As the Solution Analyst, you will play a crucial role in translating business requirements into functional and technical specifications. You will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to drive the end-to-end solution development of software applications, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, user-friendly applications which reflect Cathay’s vision to becoming one of the world’s greatest service brands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse requirements and assess detailed solutions options from a system perspective
  • Support solution design and contribute expertise and detailed knowledge to ensure high level design decisions are able to be delivered, also supporting the development of technical specification
  • Full conversion, creation, alignment, traceability and successful mapping requirements into functional and technical specifications
  • To ensure requirements are mapped and documented to functional and technical specifications for software development projects
  • Carry out supports for in-production systems and manage end user expectations, providing production support during non-office hours on a rotation basis
  • Oversee and QA the development of all solution components ensuring this meets requirements and complies with all relevant Cathay Pacific standards
  • Contribute and follow standards and frameworks for development and collaborate with other IM domains to drive innovation
  • Participate in system integration and data migration activities across legacy and new platforms, ensuring consistency and minimal disruption to operations
  • Provide timely and clear project updates including progress, risks, and key milestones, while highlighting dependencies and achievements throughout the project lifecycle, review the Application Development vendors as required
  • Keep abreast of the business strategy, business plan and latest industrial trends

Requirements

  • A minimum of 6 years of IT with at least 3 years in application development and support
  • Tertiary qualifications are essential
  • Strong interpersonal skills; promoting healthy relationships and team dynamics with internal and external stakeholders
  • Well-developed analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, leveraging both logic and creativity; strong troubleshooting skills; ability to identify patterns and generate ideas
  • Experience on hands-on technical development and implementation
  • Experience in SAP, ERP or WMS solutions is an added advantage
  • Experience in Agile delivery model is an added advantage
  • Good understanding of technology concepts, trends and capabilities
  • Effective verbal and written communication skill
  • Candidates with less experience may be considered as Solution Specialist
