Role Introduction

Reports To: Simulator Engineering Team Leader

This role is part of a professional team in our Flight Operations Department, which consists of flight crew and ground staff teams, both working to ensure the highest standards of operational efficiency and service. Safety is intrinsic to everything we do. 
 
As a Simulator Engineer, you will be responsible for simulator maintenance, defect prevention, rectification and ensuring the devices are ready for training at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • To carry out maintenance, defect prevention, rectification and ensure the Devices are ready for training at all times. Be responsible for engineering work and deferred defects assigned by senior staff on day-to-day basis.
  • Liaise with the systems engineers to work on project development.
  • Running of QTG’s and validating the same. Trouble shoot /fix day to day issues on the training devices or defer as necessary.
  • Complete other tasks assigned by the senior staff such as collecting data and testing problems.
  • Assign tasks to Technicians on a daily and real time basis, monitor progress, and check completion and quality.
  • Assign priorities dynamically to tasks on different simulator equipment.
  • Ensure safe working environment of his team members.
  • Attend training courses provided by simulator manufacturers and by senior section staff.
  • Attend various courses provided by vendors and Authorities so as to obtain relevant license. E.g. Safety Management course, Electrician License as may be assigned by section managers.
  • Participate in internal training courses including preparing and performing instruction for Technicians as required.

Requirements

Knowledge

  • University Degree or relevant experience.
  • Good command of written and spoken English, able to communicate internally and externally at different organizational levels.

Skills

  • Must have strong problem solving, teamwork and time management skills.
  • Self-motivated to learn how things work including Aircrafts with relation to the job role.
  • Effective communication.
  • Time management.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years simulator engineering experience.
