Role Introduction

Reports to: Academy Operations Manager

As the Project Coordinator, you will be supporting the management of renovation projects within Cathay Academy, assisting our Academy Operations Manager in managing and delivering renovation projects for Cathay Academy’s cabin crew training facilities (including cabin service mock-ups and associated training spaces).

You will provide in‑house technical and project management expertise to procure, execute, and hand over works which meet quality, cost, schedule and safety targets, comply with corporate standards and procurement requirements, and minimise disruption to training operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as an in-house professional supervising the renovation projects of cabin crew training facilities for Cathay Academy. Responsibilities include applying corporate design template, procurement, and project management to ensure that the project deliverables meet with the goals of quality, budget, and schedule
  • Act as the project coordinator representing the company in the renovation projects of cabin crew training facilities when design and construction are executed by external vendors / contractors
  • Support the Academy Operations Manager to administer design requirements and guidelines, determining project planning for the renovation projects, including master programs, specifications deliverables, budget planning, procurement strategies, etc., for external vendor / contractor consolidation and execution
  • Liaise with external vendors / contractors to solve any project technical issues and make decisions in the best interest of Cathay. Be capable of conducting professional reviews of vendors’ / contractors’ technical submissions (e.g. Training mock-up design and method statement) to ensure that the project deliverables align with corporate standards. Administer external vendors / contractors, ensuring that their service system designs comply with our commitments to sustainability and environmental considerations in construction projects
  • Work closely with the in-house procurement team to process the Request for Proposal (RFP) procedures, administer the appointment of vendors / contractors, and procure work packages
  • Coordinate with in-house Business Units (BUs), including but not limited to Property and Services (PSD) and Engineering (ENG)
  • Assist in preparing departmental budgets and internal financial submissions
    Maintain a strong sense of potential project risks, identifying them at an early stage and formulating solutions for risk mitigation

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in building engineering and management, Building Services Engineering or relevant subjects
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in project coordination, preferably in interior fitting-out or renovation
  • Comprehensive knowledge of local statutory requirements regarding buildings and safety
  • Good interpersonal skills and time management. Able to work under pressure
  • Experience in aviation projects related to cabin mock-ups will be a significant advantage
