Purpose

The Summer Legal Intern’s role is to provide support to the Group Legal & Compliance Department and gain hands-on experience in various areas of legal practice. The incumbent will have the opportunity to develop legal skills and knowledge by assisting with legal research and analysis, drafting, and participating in meetings with both internal and external stakeholders. ​
This role is designed to give the incumbent a well-rounded understanding of the day-to-day operations of a fast changing and interesting industry and preparing the incumbent for a successful in-house career with a leading and iconic Hong Kong Company.

About the Programme 

  • Develop expertise in specific areas of law such as corporate, regulatory, commercial, litigation, employment, personal data and privacy, and compliance​
  • Assist with legal research and analysis, and drafting.​
  • Participate in meetings with internal and external stakeholders, court/tribunal hearings, and negotiations​
  • Maintain detailed records and documentation for assigned matters and projects​
  • Collaborate with the legal team to provide efficient and high-quality legal advice​
  • Attend training sessions and workshops to continuously expand legal knowledge and skills

Job Requirements 

  • Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) / combined law degree / dual law degree / Juris Doctor (JD) degree / Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) / Common Professional Examination (CPE) students from universities in common law jurisdictions
  • Right to work in Hong Kong (non-local students with No Objection Letter (NOL) are also welcome)
  • Strong academic performance, on track for a minimum Upper Second-Class Honours or 3.30 GPA or equivalent in a law degree​
  • High proficiency in English, e.g. IELTS band score of at least 7 for each skill (listening, reading, writing, and speaking)​
  • Excellent command of written and spoken Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua) ​
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically​
  • Attention to detail and meticulous approach to work​
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently​
  • Passion for learning and the enhancement of legal knowledge and skills​
  • Familiarity with legal databases, research tools, and document management systems
  • Available to work full-time for a 1-month internship in June, July, or August 2026
