Assistant Manager Operations Optimisation Products (18-month Contract)
Role Introduction
Reports to: Operations Optimisation Manager
Cathay has established an Operations Planning team (OPN) with the vision to “orchestrate operational excellence through cutting-edge planning solutions, digital innovation, and insights, enabling Cathay to become the world’s most resilient and efficient airline”.
Within OPN, the Operations Performance & Optimisation focuses on enhancing Cathay's Operations Planning and Operations Delivery by implementing advanced digital optimisation capabilities, aiming to improve Cathay’s operational performance holistically.
The Assistant Manager – Operations Optimisation Products will be integral to the comprehensive deployment of digital optimisation products within the Operations Planning team.
Key Responsibilities
- Help define desired business capabilities, product vision, and roadmap
- Collect comprehensive business and technical requirements by engaging with relevant stakeholders
- Assist in creating the product deployment strategy, including the detailed scope, sequence, and business deployment approach for each product release
- Collaborate with technical partners to develop comprehensive and clear user stories that include quantifiable acceptance criteria
- Hold regular backlog grooming sessions to align priorities and prepare stories for development
- Coordinate and conduct comprehensive end-to-end testing of new capabilities in partnership with business users and the technical team, including formulating the testing approach, developing test cases, executing tests, and identifying and resolving defects
- Ensure timely delivery of valuable capabilities by serving as a liaison between leaders and working teams from airline operations business units and our technology partners, including data science teams, software engineering teams, third-party delivery vendors, and consultants
Requirements
- Proven experience in product management (3-5 years)
- Experience in all phases of product delivery: inception, requirements, testing, deployment into the business
- Demonstrated ability in converting business needs into comprehensive business requirements and detailed user stories
- Experience in coordinating or supporting User Acceptance Testing, involving close collaboration with both business and technical teams
- Proficient in Agile methodologies and tools, including Scrum, Kanban, and Jira.
- Analytical mindset, problem solving capabilities
- Capable of explaining potentially complex product issues in simple terms to business and leadership teams
- Candidates are preferred to have experience in airline operations, particularly in areas such as operations delivery, maintenance planning, and network planning
