Assistant Manager Inflight Safety and Risk
Role Introduction
Reports to: Inflight Safety & Risk Manager
The Assistant Manager Inflight Safety and Risk sits under the Inflight Service Delivery Department, mainly responsible for supporting Inflight safety & Risk manager in upholding Safety Management System (SMS), cabin safety standards, Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) and enable them to improve operational system, processes and safety performance. The Assistant Manager Inflight Safety and Risk also be responsible for the operational management within the department on cabin safety issues, and ensure safety standards for Cathay Pacific; and supporting inflight safety & risk manager to implement Safety Management System in managing cabin safety.
Key Responsibilities
Safety Objectives and Performance Targets:
- Monitor safety performance by reviewing cabin reports and statistics to identify any trends and to ensure they are properly followed up and alignment with the SMS and regulatory
- Review safety standards and procedures regularly and attend and act as the secretary of Cabin Safety Action Group (CSAG) meetings Support in preparation for CSAG meetings
Safety Promotion
- Decide the types of safety promotion required including safety culture, hazard identification and reporting; and develop the action plan to support various safety promotion campaign and ensure the communication materials are submitted in a timely manner; and responsible for the publication of Safety related articles, including Notice to Cabin Crew (NTCC) and Crew Weekly; and plan and implement focus groups
Date Analytics and presentation
- Research, create and develop new analytic tools to prepare event analysis, create reports and presentations to better communicate risk; responsible for the design, implementation and continuous enhancement for the web page in Hub or any safety duties projects/ meeting presentation
- Perform analyse of data contained in various Safety Information Systems for the crew and cabin safety; and spot trends and produce regular reports, trends and contributing factors and make recommendations to lead and drive continuous improvement on operational efficiency
Safety Risk Assessment and investigation
- Carry out safety risk assessment with relevant stakeholders as required, review risk assessment regularly and maintain CSAG Risk in Safety Risk Management Portal (SRMP)
- Consolidate investigation for cabin safety report or fatigue reports and ensure GSORM has the necessary information to analyse the reports and follow up; and ensure cabin crew are well trained and educated on fatigue management and facilitate education or proper process
- Actively mentor, coach and facilitate crew safety behaviour; conduct investigations into cases related to non-compliance, violations or breaches of Company Policies; and manage cases in compliance with the relevant policies, standards and legislation requirement in a fair and consistent manner
Safety Auditing and Inspection
- Conduct flight inspection, ensure Inflight Service Delivery Department complies of all cabin safety-related regulations and standards by reviewing and updating regularly, and ensure all relevant documentation for the purpose of internal and IOSA audit
- Responsible for Cabin Crew OH&S-related matters and implement OH&S programmes for Cabin Crew and maintain Certificate of Competency (COC) in Cabin Crew Management Flying Programme if required
Requirements
- At least 5 years of relevant experience, ideally in developing, implementing or closely working in a Safety Management Systems and / or OH&S role
- University graduate
- Experience in aviation, safety, OH&S, risk assessment and related discipline desirable
- Good analytical ability and action-oriented
- Detail-oriented, high-quality awareness with accuracy and efficiency
- Able to communicate with stakeholders at all levels effectively
- A high standard of written and verbal communication skills
