Accounting Supervisor
Role Introduction
Reports to: Finance Manager, Business Partnering
The Accounting Supervisor sits under the Finance Business Partnering team in the Financial Services department, mainly responsible for serving as a key member of the finance business partnering team assisting the Finance Manager in liaising with the business unit on all finance related matters and providing financial analysis and ad hoc support to responsible departments. This role contributes to the financial planning and analysis as well as functional finance business partnering functionalities.
Key Responsibilities
Monthy End Closing and Reporting
- Ensure accurate month end closing for responsible departments (e.g. accounting treatment, review anomalies, prepare accruals, follow up monthly control and reports generation)
- Prepare monthly reports (e.g. Monthly Result Packs, level 2 reports, Balance Sheet Review Pack, etc.) and provide support to BUs in relation to cost monitoring and process improvement in relation to financial related matters
- Support build-up of new reports in SAC
Day to Day Financial related matters
- Ensure proper accounting treatment in SAP and bring to attention any issues, AP processing and issue Debit notes/Invoices - follow up rejection from counterpart
- Bank Reconciliation and liaise with relevant parties with regards to financial issues raised by BUs
- Ad hoc assignments as and when required
Budget and Forecasts
- Capturing assumptions from departments
- Work out the budget figures based on assumptions from departments and BOP and provide analysis against comparatives and prepare budget/forecasts templates
- Upload figures in BPC and ensure accuracy
- Prepare relevant annual and interim schedules
Requirements
- Diploma or above in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
- Minimum 3 years accounting experience
- Well organized with strong analytical mind
- Strong skills in MS Office applications, especially in Excel, Power BI is a plus
- Experience in using SAP advantageous
- Good command of written and spoken English and Cantonese
- Able to work under pressure and being flexible when necessary to meet deadlines
- Willing to challenge the status quo and improve work processes
