Role Introduction

Reports To: Head of Global Total Rewards

In Cathay, we champion a culture that celebrates success and rewards performance. The Global Total Rewards (GTR) team, as one of the Centre of Excellence (CoE) teams in our People Department (PPL), contributes to the design and management of our total reward programmes to support talent attraction, retention and drive motivation of our employees.

As the Global Total Rewards Manager, you will be the subject matter expert for all direct rewards activities globally and be accountable for designing, implementing and managing all rewards programmes and processes across multiple locations to ensure we have the right rewards frameworks, and tools in place to effectively incentivise and recognise high performance to support the Company to achieve business objectives. You will also be the advisory partner to provide CoE advice on all direct rewards matters to other CoE teams and be the driver of the management of annual compensation cycle.

This is a people manager role which you will manage team and individual performances and people development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver competitive direct rewards programmes aligned across all markets and compliant with local laws
  • Develop and manage employee and group incentive programmes, ensuring stakeholder needs and legal requirements are met
  • Support the design and delivery of executive compensation programmes
  • Plan and manage global salary structures, including annual reviews and market benchmarking
  • Oversee rewards reviews, including cross-border packages, localisation, taxation, and allowances
  • Provide expert rewards advisory to HR partners and business leaders globally, supporting talent acquisition, retention, and labour relations
  • Manage global job evaluation, salary benchmarking, and impact analysis for new or changed roles
  • Lead the annual compensation cycle, including salary reviews, bonus and profit share schemes, and system enhancements
  • Manage and develop the rewards team, setting objectives, monitoring performance, and supporting professional growth
  • Participate in global HR or rewards projects and support day-to-day rewards operations, ensuring data integrity.

Requirements

  • Degree holder with at least 10 years working experience as in-house HR professional and/or in HR consultancy preferably in multinational / multi-geography organisations, with proven track-record in compensation & benefits, rewards, and performance management
  • At least 2 years of experience of managing a team of people
  • In-depth knowledge of global compensation practices, including salary structures, pay scales, incentive programs and job evaluation methodologies
  • Excellent project management skills, ability to effectively plan, organise and prioritise multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, attention to details and high degree of accuracy
  • Demonstrates strong stakeholder management, interpersonal and communication skills – with the ability to work with and manage relationships at all levels
  • Ability to work under pressure and independently, following tight deadlines and an agile approach.
