Role Introduction

Reports to: Airport Operations Services Manager

You will be part of the forefront of driving business development and operational improvement projects for below-the-wing airport operations, collaborating with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to enhance productivity, efficiency, and sustainability.

In this role, you will take ownership of ensuring passenger flight operations meet all regulatory and organizational standards, acting as a key point of contact for operational matters. You will lead initiatives in supplier assessment, support new destination start-ups, and contribute to business continuity planning and emergency response activities. Your expertise will be instrumental in safeguarding operational safety and quality, while providing guidance and support for dynamic operational changes.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development and Improvement

  • Lead and manage Airport Service Delivery (ASD) below-the-wing operational and business development and improvement projects with operational stakeholders (e.g. operational departments, subsidiaries etc.) internally and externally to achieve operational productivity, efficiency and sustainability
  • Offer subject matter expert (SME) inputs to support ASD Supplier Pre-assessment Programme provide assessment on potential suppliers’ safety, quality, management control, operational quality etc. as a part of request for proposal (RFP) supplier selection process
  • Coordinate and support port cutover projects (e.g. new destination start-up, supplier change, terminal move, port relaunch / resumption, charter) focusing on passenger flight below-the-wing functions

Operations Support

  • Acted as ASD below-the-wing representative on all operational execution and implementation magnitude in fulfilling operational safety and quality primary objectives, including ad-hoc operational issues
  • Conduct Centralised Load Control (CLC) operational requirement planning, forecast and analysis to support day-to-day operations to safeguard dynamic changes in operational landscape
  • Coordinate and support aircraft delivery, retirement operations and provide guidance to the Centralised Load Control (CLC) on flight handling; Coordinate and support on special aircraft operations (e.g. charters) for passenger flight below-the-wing aspects; Support SAP administration and processes for below-the-wing functions

Business Continuity & Emergency

  • Design and support Centralised Load Control (CLC) business continuity plan (BCP) across various CLCs in different geographic locations
  • Engage Group Safety and Operational Risk Management (GSORM) Business Resilience to ensure sufficient hardware and software supports in carrying out BCP callout and processes. Ensure CLC BCP locations readiness in a regular manner
  • Support the role of ASD upon Emergency & Accident (E&A) callout as a co-ordinator of the passenger manifest team
  • Deputise Airport Operations and CLC Standards Manager when necessary

Requirements

  • University graduate with minimum 5 years’ experience in airport operations
  • Sound airport operations knowledge, i.e. load control, ramp operations, aircraft loading etc
  • Sound project management and LEAN strategic management skills
  • Strong safety, quality and business continuity knowledge
  • Excellent business acumen with good analytical, problem-solving and planning skills
  • A self-motivated leader with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to interact with people at all levels and from different cultural backgrounds
  • Good command of both spoken and written English
