Role Introduction

Cathay Pacific Engineering’s role is focused on reassurance, keeping our people and our customers safe, ensuring that in every aspect of our operation we have industry highest performance and that our various fleet programmes are delivering to plan, budget and specification. Engineering’s ambition is to be one of the world’s highest performing, customer centric and progressive engineering teams and the role of the Senior Supply Chain Analyst is to be responsible for driving business improvement initiatives and supporting effective management of expendables and consumables parts (C&E parts) that support the maintenance of the Cathay Pacific fleet. The Senior Supply Chain Analyst will use LEAN methodologies and principles to drive business improvement and inventory optimisation activities, and work across suppliers, manufacturers and internal stakeholders to optimise cost of ownership of C&E parts and ensure operational availability service levels are met. This role will support the management of the life cycle of inventory, deal with manufacturers and suppliers, and support implementation of business improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive business improvement initiatives in Inventory Management using LEAN methodologies and principles
  • Regularly optimise spare re-order levels to ensure operational service levels are achieved at minimal cost
  • Perform spares and tooling initial provisioning activities
  • Continuously identify cost-drivers and initiate cost mitigation actions
  • Manage service providers and suppliers to ensure C&E (consumable and expandable parts) programmes are properly implemented, monitor Key Performance Indicators and drive improvement plans
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to drive alternative Parts Manufacture Approval development activities and identify alternative sources of parts to optimize supply chain resilience
  • Proactively identify and manage surplus, excess or obsolete spares to optimise inventory
  • Management of spares sales, surplus sale packages and surplus consignment programmes
  • Emergency and Accident and Crisis Response responsibilities as required
  • Any other reasonable task as requested including non-operational duties and projects  

Requirements

Academic Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering or Logistics and Supply Chain discipline (or a suitable equivalent)

 

Knowledge, skills, training and experience

  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience working with airlines, MROs, OEMs or suppliers and supply chains
  • Exposure to inventory management, procurement, supply chain management
  • Good commercial acumen, analytical skills and process-oriented
  • Strong communication, influencing and negotiation skills
  • Adaptable to change. Proven ability to identify and drive process improvements
  • Experience of using LEAN techniques to drive business improvement initiatives
