Role Introduction

Cathay Pacific Engineering’s role is focused on reassurance, keeping our people and our customers safe, ensuring that in every aspect of our operation we have industry leading performance and that our various fleet programmes are delivering to plan, budget and specification. Engineering’s ambition is to be one of the world’s highest performing, customer centric and progressive engineering teams and the role of the Senior Engineering Digital and Processes Engineer is to deliver Digital solutions enabling Engineering operations to deliver industry leading performance. This requires developing internal digital solutions, collaborating with Corporate Digital team and selected partners to develop digital and technology solutions to support improving Engineering processes and decisions.

Key Responsibilities

The Engineering Digital team is responsible for providing data insights and analytics solutions to Engineering, which are too complex for business unit self-service, to support Engineering’s Digital Transformation.

The Senior Engineering Digital and Processes Engineer is a Subject Matter Expert (SME), with skillsets on data analytics techniques, IT tools and Data. The person is also responsible to support the growth of Engineering digital community, and self-service analytics.

• Develop and implement digital solutions to solve Engineering business problems.
• Be a SME for data analytics techniques and tools, providing best practices and guidance to other Engineering users.
• Be a SME for the ENG data model, enabling Engineering and other users to leverage data effectively.
• Deliver centralized data analytics and digital solutions service in Engineering, meeting the needs of Engineering business units for operational excellence.

Requirements

Academic Qualifications

• Degree in IT Analytics discipline or a proven data analysis role.

Knowledge, skills, training and experience

• Typically of relevant experience in data analytics, data management and related activities or equivalent.
• Experience in managing projects
• Experience in the use of IT data analytics tools and data preparation
• Good communication and interpersonal skills (e.g. influencing and negotiation), with excellent command of both spoken and written English.
• Adaptable and responsive to change. Demonstrate ability to drive change.
• Able to collaborate multi-skilled teams.
