Role Introduction

Report To: Service Automation Manager

You are responsible for leading the automation development team and defining automation platform orchestration.  You will need to have very solid technical background across different areas including Cloud technology, Infrastructure and Network to support the automation team to provide the best automation solution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify ways to drive growth, productivity and improvement for the Company; Cross team collaboration with Network team, workplace team, Infrastructure team, DB team and security team for driving the automation direction
  • Over-all development life cycle of application and prototypes using Agile methodologies
  • Lead the team to develop the best technical design and approach for AI Ops automation; Investigate automation approaches, prototype and evaluate technical feasibility Support and maintain on the AI Ops and ITSM platform
  • Work closely with the senior developers and architects to architect and develop the best technical design and approach for AI Ops framework; Lead and manage internal and external development resources for assigned projects that are aligned with company strategic directions; Participate in the Organization and planning of development schedules
  • Assist development teams with making appropriate commitments through story selection and task definition
  • Empower the teams to self-organize; facilitate discussion and conflict resolution; Organise and facilitate daily stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, sprint and release planning, demos, and other Scrum-related meetings with Scrum teams and stakeholders
  • Track and communicate team velocity and sprint/release progress; update agile tracking systems to provide transparency on product, release, and sprint backlogs.
  • Identify and remove impediments; prevent distractions that interfere with the ability of the team to deliver the sprint goal
  • Ensure the development teams are practicing the core agile principles of collaboration, prioritisation, team accountability, and visibility; Adapt plans, schedules, and resource assignments as required to respond to emerging requirements and risks
  • Participate proactively in developing and maintaining team standards, tools, and best practices; maintain process documentation; Accountable for team resource planning; Manage external 3rd party resource; Provide direction and mentorship to less experience team members

Requirements

  • Degree qualifications (or equivalent education qualifications) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related disciplines
  • Minimum 8 years’ solid development experience in the IT industry and at least 3 years in team leading role with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of ITSM and ITIL and experienced with full lifecycle of code development work
  • Solid experience on Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Chabot and natural language processing (NLP).
  • Data focused mind-set and strong problem solving skills, including clearly defining fact-based problem statements and providing resolution.
  • Strong automation development experience, data analytic, problem solving and can do attitude with innovative mindset
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Solid experience with Java script, Phytol, Ansible, SCCM, Powershell, Restful API,JSON, XML; NoSQL DB and RDMS; Agile and Scrum; cloud technology such as AWS and Azure
  • CI/CD and monitoring tool experience (e.g. Jekins, Gitlab, ELK)
  • Coach individuals and teams to perform to the best of their ability. Empower staff to take improvement initiatives; Available to provide 24 x 7 x 365 support as required
