Role Introduction

Reports to: IT Practice Manager

This role contributes strategically and operationally to Cathay Pacific IT objectives by delivering project management services within the IT Planning and Practice team. The IT Practice Lead ensures effective frameworks, processes, and governance to drive successful project delivery, continuous improvement, and alignment across enterprise IT practices

Key Responsibilities

  • Plans and coordinates activities of IT Practice projects to ensure that goals or objectives of projects are accomplished within prescribed time frames and funding parameters
  • Work with both internal and external resources to implement and deliver IT Practice initiatives and services, within budget and with good quality
  • Collaborate with Project Management,  Practice Manager to implement project management practice across all IT projects 
  • Adopt best practices, processes and methodologies of project management and ensure compliance 
  • Attention to detail, and ability to organise and prioritize workload. 
  • Communicate and escalate risks and issues clearly and concisely and to support management with the preparation of action plans. 

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience are essential
  • Minimum 3 years of IT experience with at least 1 years in project management / coordination role  
  • Proven experience in coordiateing project tasks with ability to multitask  
  • Knowledge of the following disciplines: project and program delivery, portfolio management, change management, infrastructure development management, vendor management, financial management 
  • Technical proficiency in hardware and system software, as well as experience implementing packages and working with vendors
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, as well as ability to present and explain technical information in a way that gains understanding 
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
