Role Introduction

Reports to: Assistant Manager, Distribution Channel Optimization

You will be part of the Distribution team within Sales and Distribution, where your work will directly support our efforts to optimise distribution cost and drive commercial efficiency. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and analysing data related to shopping and booking costs. Your insights and recommendations will contribute to budget planning, cost tracking, and identifying opportunities for improvement.

You will work with cross-functional teams and external vendors to ensure data accuracy, automate processes, and support change implementation. A core part of your responsibilities includes building and maintaining data models to support cost of sales reporting and conducting invoice audits to validate performance and raise claims where necessary.

This role offers exposure to airline distribution strategy, commercial analytics, and technology enhancement. You will grow your skills in data tools and play an important part in supporting strategic decisions that influence how Cathay operates and competes in the modern distribution landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor Distribution Cost (e.g. Shopping & Booking) data accuracy on monthly basis for cost account budget.
  • Develop and maintain Distribution Cost data model for supporting cost of sales report and costs measurement & analysis in order to drive areas of improvement.
  • Manage data development with vendor and IMT via change implementation and process automation.
  • Conduct invoice audit to validate rebate performance, and issue claims in accordance to invoice errors.

Requirements

  • University graduate in business or relevant areas
  • Industry Learning Agility: Willingness to learn or have good understanding of airline distribution charges and contracts, including various shopping & booking cost (i.e. GDS, IBE, NDC and PSS).
  • Detail-Oriented and Methodical: Highly attentive to detail with a careful and thorough approach to data validation and problem-solving. Able to identify discrepancies and ensure data integrity.
  • Proficiency in Data Tools: Hands-on experience with data analytics platforms such as Alteryx and Qlik Sense is a strong advantage.
  • Strong Analytical and Excel Skills: Demonstrated expertise in analyzing large datasets/building data models using Microsoft Excel. A high level of accuracy and sensitivity to numerical details is essential.
  • Commercial Awareness: Solid understanding of business dynamics with the ability to interpret data in a commercial context and support strategic decision-making.
