Cargo Compliance Specialist (Projects) (12-month Contract)
Role Introduction
Report To: Cargo Security and Compliance Manager
This role is part of our Cargo Service Delivery Department, committed to delivering operational excellence and building trusted partnerships across our cargo network.
As the Cargo Compliance Specialist (Projects), you will be responsible for driving compliance initiatives and ensuring adherence to regulatory and operational standards across Cathay Pacific’s global cargo operations.
You will play a key role in managing compliance-related projects, identifying gaps, and implementing effective solutions to strengthen our governance framework. In addition, you will lead cross-functional collaboration to embed compliance best practices and support continuous improvement in service delivery and operational integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Review the import / export control list from related authorities’ legislations and assess cases to be used by LLM rule training in the matching database
- Prepare training data to train the model used for import / export license control screening, and prepare testing data to evaluate the performance, quality, and safety of the trained LLM
- Provide detailed examples and justifications to fine-tune LLM in the event of unexpected results, and maintain the LLM overall performance at an agreed level
- Ensure the Import / Export License Control Check project deliverables meet the business requirements, users’ acceptance, and are delivered within the project timeline
- Participate in system review, follow up on any outstanding issues, and complete the review and resolve the issue in a timely & accurate manner
- Execute the cutover plan, support the change management, cutover preparation and transition activities
- Perform ad-hoc duties arising from trade control as assigned by Cargo Security and Compliance Manager
Requirements
- Tertiary education qualifications or above in Supply Chain Management or Trade Control related discipline
- 2-3 years working experience in cargo / logistics field in aviation industry or project management is a plus
- Knowledge in Artificial Intelligence, Large Language Module, Import and Export
- Licensing and Control is an advantage
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Excellent acumen with analytical, planning and problem-solving skills
- Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Excellent command of both spoken and written English. Fluent Cantonese and Putonghua is an advantage
- Fresh graduates will also be considered
