Role Introduction

Reports to: Head of Dining Excellence 

The role is part of a global team in our Customer Experience & Design (CED) department who aim to refine, invest and improve in the areas that we know matter most to our customers, that reflects our Move Beyond promise: one that is consistent and reliable.  

As the Assistant Manager System, Projects and Administration, you will provide assistance on key cross-departmental projects. You will act as a consultant and a trainer for Catering system management and business rules maintenance of Catering Planner. You will provide value-added technical and analytical support to the Dining Excellence (DNE) and also provide consultation and advice on query tools usage and analytical techniques for improving operational efficiency and making business decision, and assist in the development, control and review of all catering policies, procedures and documents for internal and external use. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist development of business cases for DNE projects. Manage and coordinate key catering and cross departmental projects/audit programme (e.g. meal pre-order, meal wastage review, F & B Project, IOSA/ internal audit, etc.). 
  • Act as consultant and trainer for Catering system management and business rules  
    maintenance of Catering Planner. Support business rules for operations and disruption management in Catering Planner. 
  • Act as central point of contact for technical issues and liaison with vendor support of Catering Planner and other systems. Provide Catering Planner system training to internal and external users. Work closely with internal catering stakeholders to set priorities for enhancements and future roadmap of Catering Planner and other systems. User admin management of Catering Planner and other systems for the section and external users.  
  • Implement and enforce data policy - data quality, integrity, security and privacy. Work with relevant parties across CX parties and CDI to identify and analyse current business practices and processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives for DNE. 
  • Coordinate cross-departmental activities and collaborations (e.g. liaise with Planning, new ports setup and checklist, new services, meal ordering, etc.); Coordinate caterer induction for new port / caterer launch and maintain Catering Services Information. 
  • Perform complex analysis using catering data; provide consultation and advice on query tools usage and analytical techniques and prepare Reflex reports for meal presentations. 
  • Review monthly Reflex and conduct analysis when required. Support meal wastage data gathering. As DNE “Plan Admin” for Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and coordinate the BCP activities as required. 
  • Ensure all departmental manuals and documents are up-to-date and distributed effectively. Develop and maintain catering manuals such as COM, CPM and PPM; maintain intranet information and update manuals such as COM, PPM when required. 
  • Issue notices to relevant parties such as CX Crew Weekly, NTBP and crew notices when required. Coordinate with DEX and BIM on catering related information on CX website. 
  • Follow all reasonable instructions as directed by Head of Dining Excellence. Assist Head of Dining Excellence in prioritising resources and perform cross-functional tasks in line with your role level after sufficient training if & when required. 

Requirements

  • University education, preferably in computer information system or business  
    administration related disciplines. 
  • A minimum of 5 years' relevant work experience, preferably in airline-related industry and/or project management. 
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills and able to work independently. 
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making capability. 
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, good computing and statistical ability. 
  • High level of computer literacy.  
  • Practical skills on Excel Macros. 
  • Strong People and project management skills
