Assistant Airport Operations Manager – Project Support (LCO) (18-month contract)

Role Introduction

Reports to: Airport Operations and Safety Manager

This job holder will be responsible for providing subject matter expertise in aircraft weight and balance operations and assisting in the design of loading/unloading and load control processes. They will also contribute to the development of standard operating procedures, participate in system testing, and deliver training programs to ensure a successful transition to the new Ramp Application - Mobile Load 2.0 system.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

• Provide subject matter expertise in aircraft weight and balance, offer specialized knowledge on weight and balance principles to enhance safety and operational efficiency during aircraft loading and flight operations
• Assist in the design of the load control process, collaborate with cross-functional teams to create effective load control processes that optimize aircraft performance and compliance with regulatory standard
• Contribute to the development of fall-back procedures by analysing potential risks and scenarios to create comprehensive fall-back procedures that ensure safety and minimize disruptions during operations
• Support the documentation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and manuals
• Participate in comprehensive system testing and on-site trials
• Collaborate with the project team to develop customized features and provide feedback on user experience and interface design
• Liaise with outports and coordinate device configuration and deployment, act as the primary contact for outports, ensuring that device configurations are tailored to meet specific operational requirements and timelines
• Contribute to the design and delivery of computer-based and practical training programs; provide regional/outport support during the system cutover, offer proactive support and training to regional teams during the cutover phase, addressing any challenges that arise promptly
• Support the quality control processes by regularly reviewing project outputs to ensure they meet established standards
• Take Lead to collaborate with stakeholders to create post-implementation reports that analyse system utilization and ensure compliance through data analytics; evaluate the execution of projects to identify areas for improvement and ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.

Requirements

• University graduate with minimum 3 years’ experience in airport operations
• Demonstrated experience and subject matter expertise in aircraft weight and balance
• Previous experience as an Aircraft Loading Supervisor (ALS) or Turnaround Coordinator (TCO) or Load Controller (LCO)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and planning skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Good command of both spoken and written English
• Willingness to travel to various locations as required
• Proficient in computer applications, including database management
• Ability to work outside of standard office hours
