Role Introduction

As the Enterprise Quality Assurance Lead, you will lead and coordinate performance testing (PT) projects across all Cathay’s solution centres. Your responsibilities include enforcing PT methodology and CX standards, covering architecture reviews, dynamic code profiling, root cause analysis and providing application and infrastructure recommendations. You will also oversee QA of external testing resources and manage vendors to ensure high-quality, policy-compliant deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and define the performance testing strategy across projects and solution centre teams.
  • Collaborate with solution centres and stakeholders to align performance goals with business needs.
  • Mentor performance engineers, foster skill development, and promote knowledge sharing.
  • Conduct performance risk assessments and capacity planning for critical systems.
  • Design and execute performance tests using tools like JMeter or LoadRunner.
  • Analyse test results to identify bottlenecks and scalability issues.
  • Optimize application and infrastructure performance in partnership with Dev and DevOps teams.
  • Establish governance by defining KPIs/SLAs, integrating testing into CI/CD, and maintaining documentation.
  • Drive innovation through tool evaluation, automation maximization, and AI enablement in performance testing.
  • Report findings, manage vendor delivery, and track financials against test estimates to highlight potential issues. 

Requirements

Qualifications/ Experience/ Skills/ Knowledge 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related field (mandatory)
  • Over 8 years of IT experience, including 5+ years in performance testing and vendor management
  • Skilled in performance testing tools such as Opentext LoadRunner, Apache JMeter, Blazemeter, Service virtualization tools such as Mountebank, CA LISA, APM tools such as SiteScope, Dynatrace.
  • Familiar with ANSI C, Java, Groovy, and Bean Shell scripting.
  • Proficient in stress/load testing, bottleneck analysis, and interpreting system/application logs
  • Strong command of English (written and spoken) with proficiency in either Mandarin and/or Cantonese is mandatory.
  • Proven leadership in managing tech teams and communicating technical concepts effectively
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in cross-layer metrics analysis and understanding user behaviour
  • Preferred certifications: ISTQB, PMP, CISA, or ITIL
  • Airline industry experience is a bonus.
