Solution Lead (Senior Software Engineer) – Flight Operations

Leverage your expertise to lead technical delivery, focusing on OpsChat and Emergency Diversion Guidance (EDG), ensuring we deliver on our brand promise and drive organizational success—together with our global Flight Operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pre-project consulting for a portfolio pipeline of initiatives
- Capture and communicate business direction, challenges, and requirements
- Recommend commercially and technically viable ideas to improve business performance
- Work closely with developers, analysts, and architects to develop the best technical design
- Plan, design, develop, implement, and support IT products and applications to meet customer needs
- Provide an escalation point for solution analysts to deliver business solutions.
- Initiate, define, plan, and execute tasks/initiatives
- Test all solution aspects including security, performance, and integration
- Manage the day-to-day activities of the software development team and external 3rd parties as required
- Coach Solution Analysts on any aspect of their role
Requirements
- Degree qualification in Information Technology related discipline, Masters preferred
- 8+ years of related IT experience covering but not limited to:
- Software engineering
- System analysis
- Business analysis
- Solution definition
- System Testing
- Hands-on experience in backend engineering and implementation is a must
- Proficiency in MongoDB, Kafka will be advantageous
- Experience in data science or applied statistics is advantageous
- Understanding of high-concurrency programming (e.g., real-time chat backend systems) is highly desirable
- Backend focus; full-stack experience welcome
- Web/UI experience is a plus
- Tertiary education is essential
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills, promoting healthy relationships and team dynamics with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience in airline industry or customer loyalty program is a plus
- Knowledge in CI/CD, DevOps and Agile or Lean principles is preferred
- Good understanding of the latest technological trends
- Good command in verbal and written English
