Senior Maintenance Control Support Engineer
Role Introduction
Reports to: Centre of Excellence - Operations Support Manager
This role is part of our Engineering Department who are focused on reassurance, keeping our people and our customer’s safe, ensuring that in every aspect of our operation. we have industry leading performance and that our various fleet programmes are delivering to plan, budget and specification.
In this role, you will be responsible for resolving Line Maintenance critical Airframe and Avionics technical issues, minimising operation disruption and deliver operational excellence to the airline. This is supporting the Hong Kong Operations section’s purpose to deliver a safe, on-time, defect-free and customer centric operation that meets business requirements and customer expectations, and driving business efficiencies and productivities through continuous improvement.
The Senior Maintenance Control Support Engineer is a 7-days function, and the job holder will be required to work on shift in the COE.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing technical solutions for Line Maintenance Aircraft On Ground (AOG) or critical technical issues to minimise loss of aircraft availability to the airline
- Providing detailed troubleshooting instructions for significant and repetitive defects to minimise operational disruption. Overseeing deferred defect levels and managing outsourced defect management functions to ensure service levels, business requirements and customer expectations are met
- Providing aircraft preventive and predictive maintenance recommendations based on various operational alerts and aircraft health monitoring tools, to minimise operational disruption
- Effectively identifying emerging fleet reliability issues and working closely with Engineering Technical Services to ensure effective timely mitigations and resolutions are implemented
- Providing assistance to Engineering Technical Services to perform technical investigations for events and broader fleet reliability issues
Requirements
- Should be a holder of a HKAR 66 B1.1 or B2 aircraft maintenance engineer’s licence with appropriate type approval or equivalent qualification from another jurisdiction
- Holders of an Engineering degree specialised in the Aeronautical / Aerospace / Aircraft discipline may also be considered
- Minimum 6 years’ experience in aircraft maintenance or engineering roles
- Proven work experience in the field of aircraft defect troubleshooting with strong analytical and problem solving skills and a demonstrated ability to rapidly assess information, consider options and arrive at the optimum operational decision
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability to function as part of a team. Proven capability to influence across internal and external stakeholders to assertively drive operational excellence
- Highly self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to drive change and continuous improvement
- Holder of Hong Kong driving license or equivalent overseas driving license that is approved by HKSAR government for direct issue of Hong Kong driving license
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
