Principal Planning Engineer

The Principal Planning Engineer is accountable for leading the PMR ( Planned Maintenance and Record) Transformation initiative and driving the implementation of process improvements and digitalisation projects across the Maintenance Planning and Records function
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for:
- Developing and managing the overall project plan for the PMR Transformation, ensuring cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder alignment
- Identifying opportunities to optimise existing PMR processes, enhance efficiency, and enable proactive decision-making through the application of lean methodologies and data-driven analytics
- Fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the engineering team, facilitating training, knowledge-sharing, and the adoption of new digital tools and predictive maintenance models
- Serving as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, managing key relationships and ensuring seamless communication across the value chain
- Defining, tracking, and reporting on the transformation's key performance indicators, continuously assessing and optimising the roadmap based on feedback
- Leading and preparing for the PMR Transformation governance meetings, including the development of presentation materials and progress reports
- Elevating the team's capabilities and positioning the airline for long-term operational excellence in aircraft maintenance planning and records management.
Requirements
- Typically, 10 years+ of related experience in aircraft maintenance planning, engineering, and/or data analytics
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Aerospace, or a related technical discipline
- Advanced degree or post-graduate certification in Project Management, Business Analytics, or Lean/Six Sigma is preferred
- Proven experience in leading and managing complex transformation projects, with a track record of delivering tangible business improvements
- Demonstrated ability to balance technical requirements with business needs, and to translate data-driven insights into actionable strategies
- Proactive risk identification and mitigation skills, with a strong focus on change management and organisational adoption
- Exceptional leadership and stakeholder management capabilities, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and engage with internal teams, MROs and other industry partners
- Excellent communication, influencing, and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively present complex information to senior leadership
- Proficient in the use of data visualization and process improvement tools, with a keen interest in emerging technologies and their application in the aviation maintenance domain
