IT Practice Lead – Project Management Practice
Role Introduction
Reports to: IT Practice Manager
Join Cathay as the IT Practice Lead, you will drive continuous improvement of project management frameworks, processes, and tools, ensuring alignment across IT disciplines.
This role champions communities of practice, oversees the full project delivery lifecycle, and fosters professional growth to enable quality outcomes, faster delivery, and organizational success.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and continuously improve IT project management methodologies, frameworks, processes, and toolsets.
- Research and propose best practices and innovations from internal and external sources for adoption within Cathay.
- Monitor project management practices and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
- Manage change initiatives to ensure smooth adoption of improved practices.
- Align and integrate project delivery frameworks with other IT practices (Architecture, QA, Operations, Agile, BA, etc.).
- Coach and provide advisory support to project management teams; lead the Community of Practice.
- Train practitioners on methodologies, processes, and tools to enhance effectiveness and productivity.
- Represent the practice in recruitment, evaluating candidates on competency and practice-specific criteria.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date content in the project delivery repository and communication channels.
- Conduct training needs analysis and facilitate capability uplift programs for both soft and hard skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline.
- 10+ years of IT experience, including 6+ years as a practitioner in project management practices.
- Strong knowledge of end-to-end project delivery, system delivery lifecycles, and development methodologies.
- Proven leadership and change management skills, with ability to influence decisions and drive adoption of new practices.
- Excellent coaching, consulting, and advisory capabilities for individuals and teams.
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with strong stakeholder management.
- Experience in designing and delivering training programs on practice-relevant topics.
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset, focused on process improvement and innovation.
- Relevant certifications (Project Management, Agile) are beneficial; airline industry knowledge is a plus.
- Ability to stay current with industry trends and apply best practices to uplift organizational capability.
