Role Introduction

Reports to: Assistant Manager, Global Strategic Trade Partnership

This role is part of our Global Sales team in the Sales and Distribution Department who are dedicated to building strategic trade partnerships and driving commercial success in the aviation industry.

You will play a pivotal role in supporting the Global Trade Partnerships team, with a key focus on MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) and strategic partnership pillars, contributing to lead conversion, stakeholder engagement, campaign execution and operational excellence across sales systems and partner touchpoints.

As a commercially driven individual, you will have the opportunity to grow into a sales-focused career path, gaining exposure to global partners such as OTAs (Online Travel Agent) and TMCs (Travel Management Companies), high-impact events and campaigns, while collaborating with international teams to influence business outcomes in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Management

  • Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding global products and sales across both MICE and strategic trade channels; support the conversion of MICE leads and strategic partner opportunities into business outcomes, maintaining warm lead lists for ongoing engagement
  • Analyze potential MICE and trade opportunities to identify high-impact events and campaigns; coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely follow-up and alignment on lead status and campaign execution

Account Management

  • Act as account owner for the Hong Kong-based OTA and TMC partners, ensuring timely support and relationship management; assist in the development and execution of strategic sales initiatives with OTA and TMC partners, including joint campaigns and tactical offers
  • Coordinate media plans and campaign execution with global trade partners and MICE stakeholders; monitor partner performance and provide data-driven insights for account reviews and commercial discussions across both pillars; manage the global activity calendar and coordinate with client-side counterparts to ensure alignment and visibility

Sales Coordination & Workflow Optimization

  • Lead global fund utilization reporting and invoice handling for both MICE and strategic trade campaigns; support contract preparation and updates, including maintaining the SharePoint library
  • Liaise with regional teams to ensure consistent communication and campaign rollout; coordinate direct sales activities (e.g., ad hoc events) between Cathay teams and event organizers
  • Prepare and distribute sales reports and booking summaries to support strategic planning and performance tracking across MICE and strategic accounts; ensure accuracy and completeness of data in the SFA (Salesforce.com) system, including account activity records and campaign tracking for both MICE and strategic partners
  • Maintain and continuously improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Ensure accurate revenue tracking for MICE revenue through reconciliation.
  • Perform any other reasonable tasks as requested

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Tourism, or related field
  • 2-3 years of airline commercial or sales experience
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in English, Cantonese and Mandarin
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to influence internal stakeholders as well as external clients
  • Proficiency in using the sales and data tools e.g. Excel, salesforce.com, DDS.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint), with a flair for visual presentation and design
  • Self-starter with a growth mindset and willingness to take on increasing sales responsibilities
