Finance Business Partner
Role Introduction
Reports To: Head of Finance Business Partnering
The Finance Business Partner sits under the Financial Services Department, who will be responsible for supporting business decision making, provide insights through analysis of financials, optimising the process flow for operations of the responsible teams. The Finance Business Partner will be working closely with directors in Cathay to supporting business performance reviews and optimising optimal business financial decisions.
This is a 1-year contract position.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the Director to develop a financial awareness within the relevant
Line of Business/ Department such that each individual understands they impact the finances of the company and can therefore always make the best decisions for the company - Support/ lead monthly business performance reviews (discussing P&L
performance; balance sheet; cash flow; and major projects) - Provide insightful business performance analysis to support management decision making
- Supports business case development for project investments applying appropriate IRR/NPV analysis, including constructive review of the commercial rationale and financial implications, project approach and impact on the overall portfolio
- Support corporate transactions, including business case development and ensuring technical account implications are understood by the business and the financial reporting team
- Prepare regular forecasts for review by senior management;
- Work with the business to ensure the portfolio and project management tools provide up-to-date information on the status of projects and initiatives, including benefits tracking
- Coordinate with various central practice teams (e.g. Lean, Agile, Project Management) for optimal delivery and the application of best practices
Requirements
- Relevant degree and/or experience in Finance or Business. Professional accounting qualification such as CPA will be required.
- Minimum 8 years of finance experience, project management or PMO
experience (managing projects, budget and financial tracking and issue
resolution) - Experience of preparing and reviewing business projects will be required
- Sound grasp of financial principles of project evaluation and business acumen
- Excellent presentation, facilitation and influencing skills with high standard of written and spoken English. Strong communication skill to all levels in the organisation and agility to work within a team environment
- A quick learner with the ability to work independently, be self-motivated and attentive to details
- Strong analytics and reporting skills in producing reports, documentation and
presentations
