Assistant Manager – Analytics and Strategic Projects
Role Introduction
Reports to: Head of Planning – Inflight Service
The Assistant Manager – Analytics and Strategic Projects sits under the Inflight Service Delivery Department mainly responsible for managing the planning work of cabin crew members’ roster and analytics. The Assistant Manager Analytics and Strategic Projects will also responsible to coordinate with other departments to implement new initiatives or system enhancements for roster related items with reference to the analytics findings and feedback from crew members.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide insights and consultancy support for roster and strategic planning and conduct studies such as scenario simulations to review current strategies and plans, and to develop and implement new initiatives related to roster and operations
 - Run analytics on roster quality and support the operation for onboard resources review
 - Support regular crew consultation groups/ road shows to gather feedback and enhance crew rostering practices
 - Collaborate with stakeholders, and vendors to define assignment logic for all flight and related duties, maintain rules and policies, and develop crew roster and resource management strategies with analytics findings
 - Monitor and report on roster compliance and fulfilment rates in accordance with relevant regulations and standards
 - Support roster planning for all cabin crew members and manage day-to-day operations related to rostering (Pre-assign specific workshops and other ground duties and coordinate with Crew Ops on special event handling, roster changes, adverse weather responses, etc; and support system enhancement projects, such as reviewing settings for the Bid Portal, and conduct investigation on all incident reports
 - Review and identify improvement opportunities in flight patterns, assignments, and lifestyle schemes; and monitor and analyse relevant KPIs on operational dashboards, and provide recommendations for potential improvements
 - Lead data analytics projects related to flight assignments and rosters, and liaise with DGT on dashboard enhancements; and Support data integration from various sources to generate insights for business decisions
 - Collaborate with other business units on cross-departmental projects and new initiatives and support Inflight Service Delivery quality and safety outcomes, including the implementation and monitoring of safety and quality activities and processes to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance
 - Identify process improvement/ automation opportunities to enhance roster operations and support ISD audits in collaboration with Group Safety and Organisational Risk Management and ensure prompt responses to crew roster-related enquiries
 
Requirements
- University Degree
 - At least 3 - 5 years of relevant airline experience with at least 2 years’ experience in data analytics
 - Extensive knowledge on rostering and flight time limitations is preferred
 - Strong numerical and analytical skills; good computing and statistical ability
 - Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint and Word
 - Practical skills on Macros, VBA and SQL preferred
 - Good communication and organizational skills
