Role Introduction

permanent, part-time Senior Airport Lead position is available in Melbourne to join our dynamic Airport team. This role requires a minimum of 20 hours per week. 

This role leads the flight turnaround and supervises a Ground Handling Agent (GHA) team during an operational shift to ensure our airport operations run smoothly and efficiently, whilst conforming to safety and security standards.

We seek an individual who can effectively support the team in providing a high standard of airport service to customers. The role requires the ability to anticipate changing priorities and apply a practical, hands-on approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise GHA teams dedicated to Cathay flight operations, including conducting flight briefings, and fostering a motivated and positive team environment. 
  • Ensure GHA teams are equipped with product knowledge, skills and training to provide the highest possible quality of experience for our customers across all touch points 
  • Rigorously execute corporate safety, security and quality policies to ensure the station, employees and suppliers are fully compliant with all regulatory requirements and quality standards 
  • Promoting and developing a culture of zero tolerance on safety and security incidents  
  • Continuously drive improvement in operational performance, effectiveness and productivity  
  • Proactively prevent and manage flight disruptions and irregularities 
  • Support and carry out station administration duties as required

Requirements

  • Availability to work shift work, Monday to Sunday
  • At least 3 years solid customer service experience, preferably in airlines or airport
  • Ability to work independently with good decision-making skills
  • Self-motivated and committed leader who enjoys teamwork
  • Very strong customer service mentality with strong interpersonal skills
  • Sound technical knowledge and capability (multi-skilled) to perform each airport job function
  • Thorough understanding of company policies and international regulatory procedures and all required local regulatory matters
  • Ability to handle different operational modes such as normal operations, disruption, Emergency & Accident and contingency situations
  • Adapts to and embraces constant change
