Personal Information Collection Statement


This personal information collection statement (“PICS”) applies to all applicants applying for a job with Cathay Pacific Airways Limited (and/or any of its associated companies, which includes Hong Kong Dragon Airlines Limited) of Cathay Pacific City, 8 Scenic Road, Hong Kong International Airport, Lantau, Hong Kong (the “Company”). It sets out the basis in which any personal information collected by the Company or provided by you during the recruitment process will be used, processed and transferred by the Company.

Personal information will be collected from you to assess your suitability for positions you have applied for or have opted to be considered for in your applicant account with Cathay Pacific’s recruitment portal known as “Careers”.

You are initially required to fill in an application form in Careers to provide us with the information necessary for us to consider your application. It is mandatory for you to provide the personal information marked with an asterisk on the application form. Failure to provide all the mandatory fields marked with an asterisk may prevent the Company from assessing your application and it may affect the processing and outcome of your application.

If you are a former employee of the Company, you agree to us using any available employment-related records held by the Company for the purpose of processing your application for employment. If you are a former employee of one of our subsidiaries or associated companies, you agree to us requesting any available employment-related records for the purpose of processing your application for employment from the relevant subsidiary or associated company.

Your personal information will be transferred to a data processor for the purposes of processing your application. The data processor may or may not be within your home country and may or may not have the same level of data protection measures and laws that is in place in your home country.

Your personal information may be shared with the Company’s subsidiaries and/or associated companies, for the purpose of processing of your application and/or considering your suitability for the role you have applied for. Further, your personal information may be accessed, transferred to, processed or stored:

At a destination within or outside your home country, such destination may or may not have the same level of data protection measures and laws that is in place in your home country;

by the Company’s employees or employees of the Company’s subsidiary or associated company.

By submitting your personal information, you agree to such access, transfer, processing and storing. We will take reasonable steps to ensure that your personal information is treated securely.

You have the right to request access to, rectify, amend, correct or cancel your personal information held by us.

Your applicant account with Careers allows you to amend your personal data at any time prior to submitting an application for a job. After submission of the application, you may at any time delete, amend and/or correct your profile and personal data. You may also revoke your acceptance of this Personal Information Collection Statement via your applicant account with Careers.

If you wish to request a copy of your personal information held by us, you should complete our "Data Access Request Form" and send it to the Data Protection Officer in our People Department at the above address.

For the purposes of considering your application for future recruitment opportunities, we will retain the personal information of unsuccessful applicants up to a period of 24 months of inactivity. “Inactivity” is defined as no attempt being made by you to log into your applicant account with Careers.  

Home country means either your country of residence, nationality or country in which the application was submitted.
