Senior Solution Lead - ICC - Service Integration

Role Introduction

Reports to: Application Manager - ICC

This role, Senior Solution Lead, Service Integration and Cloud Integration, is responsible for understanding business needs and driving technology direction and solution delivery within a business domain. The main focuses are to provide leadership in implementing and maintaining integration services for API(s), web services and message services. You are responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of IT product or application with high deliverables that are aligned with the business vision and goals by managing a very energetic team using different delivery methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

Business Engagement

  • Provide pre-project consulting for a portfolio pipeline of initiatives
  • Understand, capture and communicate business direction, challenges andrequirements
  • Support and participate in business process change
  • Identify ways to drive growth, productivity and improvement for the Airlines
  • Recommend commercially and technically viable ideas to improve business performance
  • Develop and maintain a cross departmental view of IT and business
  • Interact and work closely with solution provider or internal senior management

Technology Design and Implementation

  • Drive technical evaluation, detail design and implementation of API Management
  • Lead development and support of integrate API(s) and message services between internal and external system(s)
  • Enable scalable solutions through working with a variety of IT applications and scenarios including cloud, and hybrid solutions
  • Work closely with developers, analysts and architects to develop the best technical design
  • Plan, design, develop, implement and support IT products and applications to meet customer and IT needs
  • Lead the design walkthroughs with IT and business people to validate solutions against business requirements and IT architecture
  • Act as an escalation point for solution analysts in order to deliver business solutions that include technology implementations and/or adaptations
  • Generate ideas and develop new approaches to improve overall system design and/or streamline delivery of product/system
  • Participate in Product Vertical Team to continuously experiment, iterate and deliver product objectives  adopting Agile development practices
  • Perform the role of surrogate Product Owner / BU SME (generally Senior)

Project Delivery

  • Focus on multiple medium to large scale initiatives
  • Initiate, define, plan and execute tasks / initiatives
  • Test all solution aspects including but not limited to security, performance, integration
  • Facilitate project progress through relevant gates
  • Manage day-to-day activities of the software development team and external 3rd parties as required
  • Ensure that team members are provided with necessary organizational insight to make effective decision
  • Make timely risk mitigation decision and mobilising resources for projects by considering operational and financial metrics

People Management

  • Contribute to team resource planning
  • Manage external 3rd parties as required
  • Lead and coach Solution Analyst(s)

Act as an IT practice champion or be an Agile coach if required



  • Degree qualification in Information Technology related discipline, Masters preferred
  • 10+ years of related IT experience covering but not limited to:
    • Software development
    • System analysis
    • Business analysis
    • Solution definition
    • System Testing
  • At least 4 years of hands-on implementation experience in API management solution and SOA solution
  • Experience in overall application integration technologies, implementations and architectures; covering application development methodologies, Service Oriented Architecture, Object-Oriented analysis and design, Message-oriented application design, Event Driven application design
  • Experience in working with system integration platforms such as IBM Integration Broker, IBM Message Queue, KONG, Kafka
  • Knowledge of database management system and best practices
  • Knowledge of IT security and auditing best practices.
  • Strong in software development methodologies and cloud technologies including API and Web Services (SOAP, REST and XML) and Amazon core services
  • Good understanding of Java Script and JSON is an advantage
  • Proven extensive client facing experience with successful relationship management
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skill
  • Experience managing a software development team
  • Professional, passionate, innovative, self-motivated and able to present solutions to diverse groups of stakeholders
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, leveraging both logic and creativity
  • Proven troubleshooting skills; ability to identify patterns and generate ideas
  • Experienced in driving technical innovation
  • Experience with utilization of outsourced and/or globally distributed resources
  • Airline or travel industry knowledge is highly beneficial
  • Solid software development skill is highly beneficial
  • Experience in working with Agile projects
  • Consulting background is highly beneficial
