Role Introduction

  • The role reports to the Public Affairs Manager and provides support in all engagement activities involving political parties, strategic partners, government and regulatory officials.
  • To identify, evaluate, recommend and deliver political and regulatory activities designed to positively influence Cathay’s ability to achieve regional and national business goals.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of stakeholders’ engagement programmes and action plans for fostering public/government support and mitigate risks, so as to facilitate the implementation of corporate projects and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities

Government Relations

  • Responsible for maintaining and expanding the resources of relevant government departments, industry associations, university relations, and scientific research institutes. Improve the archives of important personnel of relevant government functional departments and institutions in the region.
  • Master and study government management ideas and policy dynamics.
  • Assist in handling crisis emergency.
  • Cooperate with and organise participation in the company's daily communication with the government, including daily reception, meeting participation, event organisation, etc.
  • To carry out manuscript drafting, policy research, government-enterprise cooperation, government honours and project declaration.
  • Getting hold of the CPPCC and Democratic Party policy information, tracking, analysing and researching the formulation and application of relevant policy information; and being responsible for the research and preparation of CPPCC proposals and other written materials.

  • Emergency and Accident and Crisis Response responsibilities as required
Requirements

Academic qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, 985/211 is preferred, journalism is preferred, civil aviation graduation institutions are preferred.

 

Knowledge, skills, training and experience

  • At least 5 years’ experience, with more than 2 years of experience in government affairs or the system.
  • Familiar with government relations work, with the CPPCC and Democratic Party resources or relevant work experience is preferred.
  • Familiar with government organizational structure and workflow, with strong government document writing skills
  • Strong policy research ability and keen industry observation are required.
  • Strong communication skills, with continuous learning ability
  • Possess strong political sensitivity.
