Programme Actuary

Reports to: Head of Programme Value Optimisation

Department: Customer Relationship & Retail (CRR)

The Programme Actuary is responsible for driving the development of models, tools & framework to understand and derive strategies to influence member behaviour in order to optimise the monetization of customer relationships. He/she will also provide strategic support to the Insurance & Wellness Partnership team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible the miles liability forecast & ensure programme sustainability
  • Establish breakage as a strategic lever
  • Develop & execute on a roadmap to build breakage analytical capability
  • Implement and assess the effectiveness of member engagement initiatives
  • Monitor program level breakage and model performance
  • Run the Breakage Committee
  • Drive the development of Customer Lifetime Value (CLV) model to be used as a business decision tool
  • Support the development of the Insurance & Wellness Strategy for Cathay Pacific

Requirements:

  • MBA or relevant quantitative graduate degree from a top-tier programme
  • Fellow/Associate member of a global actuarial organization such as Institute/Faculties of Actuaries (UK), Casualty Actuarial Society (US), Society of Actuaries (US), Actuaries Institute (Australia)
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in customer value modelling, pricing analytics/optimisation or airline revenue management with track record of achievements and results
  • Distinctive strategic thinking and problem solving abilities, strong analytical skills, and impeccable business judgment
  • Customer-focused on both internal and external customers
  • Proven ability to influence others and achieve tangible business results
  • Experience in developing and delivering successful business strategies and plans
  • Ability to learn quickly and independently
  • A highly motivated, creative, dynamic and innovative team player
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Chinese and English, including presentation writing and delivery
