Role Introduction

Reports to:Head of Performance & Rewards

The job holder is the subject matter expert for all rewards activities globally and is accountable for designing, implementing and managing all compensation and benefit and performance management programmes and processes across multiple locations, to ensure we have the right rewards frameworks, policies and tools in place, effectively incentivise and recognise high performance to support the Company to achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Rewards and Mobility Programmes Design and Management

  • Contribute to the design and delivery of competitive compensation and benefit and mobility programmes that are aligned across all markets and are in compliance with country specific legal requirements
  • Formulate and evaluate rewards framework, policies and procedures; deliver elements of the technical design; provide financial, market practice, and legal analysis and insights; draft proposals and reports for management.
  • Design and manage the implementation of employee incentive programmes; identify and respond to the needs of internal stakeholders; clarify the financial, business performance, and behavioral parameters that are to be met; ensure compliance with external legal requirements.
  • Support the design and delivery of executive compensation programmes
  • Administer and review employee benefits and retirement programmes in all global jurisdictions, mediating between benefits providers and employees
  • Partner with Global Business Services to ensure efficient delivery of pension and benefits administration functions, including enrolments, terminations and reporting and drive business improvement
  • Advise local HR business partners and regional HR teams on all rewards matters, supporting the business to acquire, motivate, retain talent and support labour and industrial relations whilst adhering to global guidelines
  • Support Head of Performance & Rewards on day to day rewards operations, ensuring data integrity in HR systems
  • Participate in other HR or rewards initiatives and projects globally as assigned

Benchmarking and Job Evaluation

  • Conduct job evaluation, regular pay and benefits benchmarking exercises, market analyses and other cost modelling
  • Manage participation in compensation and benefits surveys, including job matching and data consolidation across all markets
  • Translate survey results into useful insights for management; identifying relevant trends to improve compensation and benefit initiatives
  • Support Head of Performance & Rewards on job evaluation and career level alignment exercise for Swire Group.

Management of annual compensation and performance review cycle

  • Facilitate the regular salary review and bonus payment process, providing costing and market competitiveness, fair pay analyses and insights;
  • Manage the annual compensation management and performance management cycle, including the compensation management and performance management technology system and any releases, enhancements or improvements
  • Prepare proposals for merit increase and off cycle salary adjustments
  • Draft communications for employees and deliver management briefings; prepare line-management decision making tools.

People Development and Performance Management

  • Manage and report on team performance; set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports or project / account team members and hold them accountable for achieving these, taking appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of team / personal objectives.
  • Lead, support and encourage own team to effectively collaborate with others achieve success and lead by example in accordance with Cathay’s core values
  • Develop employees with high potential and identify learning opportunities to ensure appropriate training and development
  • Maintain active and ongoing dialogue in relation to employee goals and individual performance
  • Actively engage with employees to enhance communication and their understanding of department goals
Requirements

  • Degree holder plus at least 10 years working experience as in-house HR professional and/or in HR consultancy preferably in multinational / multi-geography organisations, with proven track-record in compensation & benefits, rewards and performance management.
  • At least 2 years of experience of managing a team of people
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Experience in managing ORSO / MPF schemes and thorough understanding of underlying pensions legislations and regulatory environment
  • Experience in managing pension fund administrators and flexible benefits scheme advantageous
  • Knowledge of aviation employee travel and benefits programmes advantageous
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, attention to details and high degree of accuracy
  • Demonstrates strong stakeholder management, interpersonal and communication skills – with the ability to work with and manage relationships at all levels
  • work efficiently under pressure and follow tight deadlines, with minimal supervision
