Role Introduction

Reports to: Head of Line Maintenance

Accountable for delivering a wide range of Line Maintenance Head Office management and support functions, implementation of operational policy and procedures to ensure the Cathay global network is able to deliver operational excellence. This post holder is the key interface between the outport teams and the internal stakeholders in head office.

Key Responsibilities

Line Maintenance is an operational critical section in Engineering Department that supports the Company’s brand and business by delivering a safe, reliable and cost-effective line maintenance service to Cathay Pacific Airways as well as our third party customers in the global network. The team is focused on safety and compliance, service delivery, capability development, operational disruption recovery, supplier management and business performance for line stations/

  • Setting direction, leading and developing the teams
  • Driving continuous business process improvement by using lean tools, data analytics and technologies
  • Managing network capability to support business operating schedule, and driving continuous development of outport support model to deliver operational excellence
  • Managing HKAR-145 approval and other foreign maintenance organisation approvals to support the Business Operating Plan for Cathay Pacific Airways and third party business contracts
  • Driving best practices across the network to reduce engineering accountable disruptions by implementing corrective / preventive measures to avoid the loss of aircraft availability
  • Managing technical training program and recurrent trainings to support the CX operational requirements and third party business needs
  • Driving maintenance errors reduction through continuous oversight, robust safety investigations, effective mitigations implementation and close-looping learnings
  • Managing and improving the global aircraft handling policy and procedures in line with the industry standards and best practices
  • Managing and continuously improving the Line Maintenance Quality Control Program to drive safety performance and ensure compliance
  • Developing and continuously improving the end-to-end supplier management process to ensure the services delivered meet all requirements
  • Managing business dashboards, LM mobility, eTechLog, IT platforms administration and development to improve operational efficiencies
  • Managing and coordinating new aircraft delivery / lease return / retirement projects
  • Participating in industry technical forums / working groups such as IFQP, IDQP, IGOM …etc  to gain expertise knowledge and learn industry best practices 
  • Implementing and managing cost savings and productivity improvement projects to deliver business value and benefits

  • Engineering degree or Aircraft Maintenance Licence (HKCAD license or equivalent)
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in line maintenance (with minimum 2 years in management role)
  • Experience of managing a team and delivering high performance
  • Experience of leading changes, and delivering productivity and operational improvement 
  • Experience of managing third party supplier and driving performance improvement 
  • Ability to build strong and effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders 
  • Strong commercial and business acumen
