Role Introduction

  • This role is responsible for delivering learning programmes for cargo operations staff as well as train-the-trainer certification courses for ground handling agent trainers.
  • Ensure cargo and freighter operations staff have the required knowledge, skills and attributes to be safe, operationally competent, service minded and regulatory compliant.
Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver functional, technical and service programmes system-wide for freighter aircraft ramp staff and handling agents.
  • Deliver train-the-trainer certification courses for ground handling agent trainers. Conduct supplier training / trainer auditing programmes in outports.
  • Actively liaise with local port training coordinator to identify local needs and support learning plans.
  • Participate in new training programme design and delivery projects.
  • Provide ‘cutover’ training to ensure new stations, change of suppliers, new terminals and new systems are effectively launched.
  • Work independently to report back to The Learning Academy in Hong Kong on the local learning needs and the delivery of training programs, including progress reports, training metrics, and evaluation results.
  • Collaborate closely with local cargo services team to ensure that training programs are aligned with local business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local cargo services team across the region to ensure that training programs are delivered to a high standard.
  • Support and be a part of the local cargo line operations (10-20%).
  • Emergency and Accident and Crisis Response responsibilities as required.

Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience

  • 8+ years of cargo and freighter operations experience (supervisory or above) preferred.
  • In-depth subject matter knowledge.
  • Role model of customer service and operational excellence.
  • Sound cargo services and operational knowledge, e.g. Dangerous Goods Handling and Regulations, Cargo Services and Tariff, Freighter Load Control, Warehouse & Ramp Operations, etc. will be advantageous.
  • Sound PC knowledge in MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint a must.
  • Knowledge of CSS and ALPS will be advantageous.
  • Strong personal presence and verbal / non-verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Flexible and adaptable.
  • Strong planning and organising skills.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and acts as a supportive team player.
  • Facilitation skills to deliver learning sessions.
  • Passion for learning.
  • Willingness to travel extensively.
