Lead Cabin Programmes Engineer - Retrofit

Role Introduction

Reports to: Cabin Programmes Manager (Retrofit)

The job holder is responsible for evaluation, costing, project managing and on-time introduction of new cutting edge cabin equipment and furniture to the Cathay Pacific (CX) fleet. He/ She will ensure that such equipment and furniture will meet HKG regulatory requirements and CX specifications, ensuring CX product and design requirements are able to translate into feasible, technical terms. He / She will support costing, man hour and A/C input time estimates, deliver cost and TRT improvements through knowledge and experience gained. He/ She will also support supplier selection process and contract
negotiations in the best interests of CX and manage suppliers to deliver CX programme schedule.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage projects and oversee cabin programmes to ensure that the quality of work and project delivery will meet CX requirements.
  • Deliver assigned Technical Services functions in support of cabin programmes and cabin operations.
  • Deliver cabin projects and initiate improvements that improve safety, efficiency and cost.
  • Build strong working relationships with OEM / cabin suppliers and MROs. Ensure cost effective (MRO) on-site support for cabin retrofit programmes as required.
  • Support and drive cabin safety and reliability improvements through structured cross-functional engagement with key stakeholders, e.g. Inflight Service Delivery (ISD) Department at CX and ISD Department. Manage assigned meetings as required.
  • Responsible for evaluation, costing and project planning of new livery designs or one-off paint schemes.
Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years' experience in aircraft/cabin design and/or relevant experience in cabin engineering.
  • Degree in Engineering / Aerospace discipline.
  • Familiar with FAA/EASA and HKCAD requirements.
  • Proven experience in supervising and managing projects and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong leadership skills. Proven ability to manage across departments and OEMs/Vendors.
  • Strong in communication, influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Drive for excellence.
  • Adaptable and responsive to change. Demonstrate ability to drive change. Proven ability to drive and supervise multi-skilled teams
