Role Introduction

Reports to: Senior Infrastructure Lead

The Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for any technical responsibilities associated with automation on on-premises and public cloud environment. This position is to perform as the subject matter expert (SME) in Modernization team in design, develop, test, deploy and support the automation deliverables required from projects and BAU operation.  Work with IT Teams of different domains to ensure that deliverables are fit-for-purpose, cost-effective and compliant with CPA standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintain the automated scripts for workload provisioning on Cloud environment
  • Develops and maintain the automated scripts for BAU activities ranging from work order fulfilment, auto healing to reporting
  • Ensure all deliverables will be documented and saved into CPA private vault
  • Makes sure the automation complies with ITSM processes including Change Management and Configuration Management
  • Monitor and review the efficiency of the automation process
  • Collect requirements from other IT teams on their automation needs
  • Interface with PO (product owner) to refine requirements and translate them to stories and epics
Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of IT experience on Cloud environments (i.e. AWS or Azure)
  • Minimum of 2 years of Automation development experience on any one of the following tools:
    • AWS CDK or SDK, or CloudFormation, or Azure Automation or SDK
    • Ansible
    • Terraform
    • AWS CLI or Azure CLI
  • Experience in languages and infrastructure such as CloudFormation, Terraform and Node.js and scripting
  • Ability to listen and articulate ideas verbally, and in the written form, to a broad range of audiences; ability to ask probing questions and deliver presentations
  • Well-developed analytical, problem-solving, decision-making and critical thinking skills, leveraging both logic and creativity; strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills; ability to identify patterns and generate informed ideas
  • Ability and willingness to proactively accept and drive change to accomplish positive collective outcomes
  • Ability to understand strategy and align tactical and strategic work in a well-balanced way to achieve results
  • Passion with latest bleeding-edge technologies with proven track-record in learning new technology
  • Knowledge in hosting such as operating systems (e.g. Linux, Windows), networking and storage is an advantage
  • Experience in agile methodologies such as Scrum is an advantage
  • Candidate with less experience will be considered as Infrastructure Specialist
