Group Security Officer

Reports to: Assistant Group Security Manager

Department: Group Safety & Operational Risk Management

This position will be responsible for improving the productivity and value of the category by collaborating with client departments to manage third party expenditure through demand management, category planning and supply relationship management expertise.

Round the clock security resource at Hong Kong International Airport for discharging operational security functions and supporting crew and ground staff on security related incidents as follows:

  • Discharge operational security tasks and conduct quality control inspection on security service provider(s) at Hong Kong International Airport on a day to day basis to meet regulatory requirements;
  • Implement measures to protect assets of the airline group and properties of passengers;
  • Implement measures to manage inadmissible passenger and illegal immigrant trafficking incidents; and
  • Handle and investigate security related incidents, and compile incident reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • To discharge CX airlines group operational security in Hong Kong to meet respective governments’, CX and KA security programmes’ requirements;
  • To handle security related incidents in Hong Kong reported by crew and ground staff and to compile the incident reports;
  • To implement preventive measures to minimize immigration infringements and fraud incidents;
  • To conduct inspection on security services provider at Hong Kong International Airport to ensure the service quality provided meets the specified requirements;
  • To review and implement preventive measures to protect the airline group assets and passengers’ properties are protected from theft or losses;
  • To participate in and/or facilitate anti-illegal immigrant trafficking operations mounted by the Hong Kong Immigration Service and overseas governments’ Airline Liaison Officers based in Hong Kong
  • To reply various government authorities’ requests for passengers’ information for the investigation and detection of crime; and
  • To carry out additional duties as assigned by Group Security Manager Operations and Assistant Group Security Managers

Requirements

  • F.5 standard
  • Minimum of 5 years’ working experience at airport and airline services
  • Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese
  • Able to work shift duties (including overnight shifts), on call 24/7 and travel on short notice
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team with good interpersonal and organizing skills
  • Able to resolve problems and make decisions
  • Some previous supervisory experience, a holder of a valid full Hong Kong Driving License (Class 1) and knowledge of CX IT applications (such as CIS and reservation and check-in system) is an advantage
