EPMO Analyst

Department: Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO)

Reports to: Head of EPMO

The EPMO Analyst assists with the review and assessment of project investments, monitors compliance to project governance, undertakes Portfolio Management across Cathay Pacific Airways' projects and oversees the benefits tracking reporting process. The individual will be highly motivated and work as part of a small team structure to provide financial and project governance across a portfolio of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Governance

  • Assist with the assessment and analysis of proposed project investments
  • Review Project Change Requests
  • As part of a team understand the detail of projects and provide governance advice to project teams
  • Support project teams in project financial, risk and issue management as directed
  • Monitor the portfolio to ensure compliance to Project Delivery Life Cycle (PDLC)
  • Review project closeout documentation for accuracy and completion

Benefits Realisation

  • Support the review of benefits and provide advice to enhance the quality of the benefits
  • Work with business units to ensure the tracking of project benefits
  • Collect and analyse data on benefits realisation

Portfolio Management

  • Support the production of pipeline data analysis across dependencies, key resource needs, priorities and benefits
  • Support project quality management planning, project health checks and lessons learned
  • Work across the portfolio to monitor the delivery of project outcomes
  • Support the portfolio and project management tool (HP PPM) to ensure accurate, relevant and up-to-date information
  • Develop Management Reports to provide stakeholders with transparency on the progress and health of projects and the portfolio

Continuous Improvement

  • Lead ad hoc studies and investigations
  • Provide project management guidance to other members of the team

Project Management Methodology

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of PDLC processes, templates and systems
  • Support the EPMO communication and change activities to ensure all stakeholders are informed of the latest EPMO processes
  • Provide introduction, briefing and uplift sessions on governance and project management related processes

Key Requirements:

  • Relevant degree and/or experience in Finance or Business
  • Minimum 4 years of project or finance experience, with experience in working in PMO and/or managing projects, budget and financial tracking and issue resolution
  • Strong analytical mind, organising and planning skills
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills with a high standard of written and spoken English
  • Agility to work within a team environment
  • A quick learner with the ability to work independently, be self-motivated and attentive to details
  • Strong analytics and reporting skills in producing reports, documentation and presentations
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong leadership skill, potential to lead a team
  • Able to execute good judgement in raising concerns and issues to management
