Role Introduction

Reports to: Head of Technology & Architecture

The Enterprise Architect – Infrastructure is responsible for providing leadership and vision to Infrastructure Managers and Infrastructure Architects in developing architectural infrastructure roadmaps and conducting reviews on IT infrastructure solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the enterprise infrastructure architecture and roadmap definition, including architecture vision, principles, standards and policies, target state blueprints, and roadmap for the relevant infrastructure domains
  • Work closely and collaborate with other Enterprise Architects to align the enterprise architecture strategy (for all business and technology domains)
  • Work closely with infrastructure architects to ensure decisions meet long term enterprise growth needs
  • Drive to implement best practices and industry patterns to enable manageable, scalable, and high-performance solutions
  • Identify opportunities for improved business performance using enterprise architecture vision and target state through process or technology change
  • Support the Infrastructure team in defining the enterprise architecture strategy
  • Actively engage in and contribute to relevant solution design review activities and enterprise architecture governance forums and conduct project technical reviews and health checks
  • Actively engage in the analysis of technology industry and market trends to determine their potential impact on the business/application architecture
  • Cross-team collaboration with architects, infrastructure leads, and engineers to communicate infrastructure development needs and design
  • Provide valuable assistance and advice to complex projects
  • Support continuous improvement of Cathay IT Standards and Practices
  • Mentor the infrastructure architects and infrastructure engineering team. Promote ideas for using the effective technologies
  • Keep abreast of the latest trends in technology, industry, and corresponding business domain

  • University Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related disciplines
  • Minimum 12 years of IT experience with at least 7 years in infrastructure strategy and architecture design or technology enablement related position
  • Proven abilities to develop enterprise architectures with excellent analytical and conceptual skills; ability to create original concepts and theories for a variety of projects, and to think creatively and beyond normal constraints
  • In-depth knowledge of workplace, middleware, infrastructure, network and security technologies
  • In-depth knowledge of cloud-native concepts, methods and related technologies
  • Passion and ability to learn new technologies and their application
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation and negotiation
  • Excellent breadth of thinking, able to provide pragmatic solutions that consider all relevant constraints whether technical, financial, organisational, risk, or capability based
  • Airline knowledge is an advantage
  • TOGAF certification is preferred
