Role Introduction

To support the formulation of digital sales and channel proposition strategy and its execution, meet digital sales target, and engage with external partners to drive commercial and strategic value.

Key Responsibilities

Digital Sales

  • Support Head of Commercial GBA to formulate digital sales strategy and perform execution
  • Enrich product offering catalogue for digital channel and roll out key tools across sales offices
  • Work with sales offices and headquarter business units to deliver an omni channel experience for customer across sales and service through Marketing Cloud
  • Participate in partnership discussion to drive commercial value and extend reach of new customers
  • Instil best practice in campaign formulation and ensure a platform for best practice sharing among sales offices is in place
  • Mentor direct reports, encouraging effective collaboration and identifying learning opportunities to ensure appropriate training and development is in place


Revenue Generation

  • Accountable for revenue target achievement from direct sales channels including CX.com, Mobile applications, Customer Care Department and metasearch directed business
  • Manage all digital sales revenue within the region to maximise return on investment
  • Support Head Office to develop and implement new ancillary products to leverage emerging market opportunities and drive additional revenue
  • Lead the strategy development and execution of all region-based marketing activities



  • Develop regional digital sales intelligence in association with competition analysis and consumer trend monitoring
  • Keep up with the industry development and leverage on the advanced digital sales tools or channels to drive and maximize digital sales


OTA Agency management

  • Manage OTA agency’s performance, and increase CX’s revenue/ticket share
  • Launch joint promotional activities with OTAs to increase CX market awareness
  • Conduct regular reviews of channel performance
  • Any other reasonable task as requested


People Development and Performance Management

  • Lead, support and encourage own team to achieve success
  • Build a strong and motivated team, ensuring the right organisational structure and the right people are in place to foster positive team spirit and facilitate teamwork
  • Supervise and mentor direct reports, encouraging effective collaboration
  • Demonstrate leadership and lead by example in accordance with Cathay’s core values
  • Develop employees with high potential and identify learning opportunities to ensure appropriate training and development
  • Maintain active and ongoing dialogue in relation to employee goals and individual performance
  • Actively engage with employees to enhance communication and their understanding of department goals
  • Enhance the employee experience in line with the role level and the internal brand promise



  • Emergency and Accident and Crisis Response responsibilities as required

Academic qualifications

  • University degree preferably in Business, Marketing, Economics, Communications or related discipline


Knowledge, skills, training and experience

  • 7+ years’ of practical experience in a commercial discipline of digital sales or eCommerce. Experience with airline or hospitality industry a definite advantage
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and positively influence employees
  • Demonstrable experience in leading regional teams and individuals to achieve success
  • Demonstrable results in achieving digital sales targets
  • Experience in agency management and / or partner management
  • Adapts to and embraces constant change
  • Excellent commercial acumen and possess an analytical mind-set, and strong in digital sales tools
  • Ability to build trust, influence, and promote collaboration among a wide range of stakeholders
  • Take ownership, resourceful and decisive
