Role Introduction

  • Generate actionable analytics and insights and extend it as an integral component of major business change and investment programmes, including services deliveries, loyalty management, sales management and customer experience optimization
  • Use key tools of analytics and data science to come up with solution and algorithm with measurable impact and appropriate verification plans
  • Evaluate model performance and iterate to optimize
  • Evaluate new capabilities in advancing the analytical power of the company

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced analytics and machine learning support on Greater Bay Area customer and revenue management functions
  • Work with functional teams to design, experiment, implement and adopt data driven decision making to achieve desired business outcomes
  • Evaluate current and newly developed machine learning models to monitor insight quality and implement proactive changes and enhancements to ensure model sustainability
  • Evaluate the analytical value and accuracy of new data sources and its synergies with overall Cathay data analytics & data science landscape
  • Partner with Digital & IT to promote efficient machine learning delivery methods to improve time-to-market and service robustness of new data products
  • Emergency and Accident and Crisis Response responsibilities as required
Requirements

The ideal candidate will be a strong advocate for adoption of data science and have a passion for experimentation of application of AI and uncovering business value

 

Academic qualifications

  • Bachelor/Master degree (or equivalent education qualifications) in Mathematics, Computer Science, Operation Research, Quantitative Marketing, Psychology or related disciplines

 

Knowledge, skills, training and experience

  • Minimal 5 years’ work experience in data processing and analysis, preferably CRM related
  • Minimal 3 years’ work experience in machine learning model development
  • Professional level of Chinese (Mandarin, with Cantonese preferred) and English
  • Experience in Python & Spark is a must
  • Experience in ASW cloud stack is highly preferred
  • Experience in data visualization tools
  • Good analytical skills, experience in recommending appropriate algorithm and methodology for problem-solving and decision making, leveraging both logic and creativity
  • Experience in visualisation and wrangling tools such as QlikSense and Alteryx an advantage
  • Sound communication & influence skills to work with business partners of different levels and background. Be able to articulate ideas verbally and in written forms
  • Able to keep track of latest analytics technology and concepts, trends of platform & tools
  • Strong in managing time and multiple projects with a continuous improvement mindset
