Catering Finance & Cost Control Specialist (2-year contract)

Role Introduction

Reports to : Assistant Manager Catering Finance & Cost Control(AM, CFCC)

The position is responsible and providing support to Catering Finance and Costing Control (CFCC) team in managing catering invoice system and payment, catering and overhead budget, forecast, cost analysis and monthly budget variance explanation & related reports for improvement & management review.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support CFCC Team for departmental budgeting and forecast.
  • Prepare catering and overhead budget & forecast.
  • Prepare and consolidate monthly variance explanation, monthly budget review meeting, cost category project and catering initiatives update for management review.
  • Support CFCC Team to manage and oversee catering invoices validation and payment functions via Catering Planner and other FIN/SAP systems.
  • Liaise/follow up with Finance for all financial issues.
  • Prepare and consolidate regular and ad-hoc cost impact & “what if” analysis reports for management review.
  • Follow up all meal cost, budget, catering contract issues.
  • Support CFCC team to manage catering system invoicing data and system rules setup (e.g. validation, tax & discount and cost centre) and other related FIN/Costing projects as well as daily operation.
  • Perform catering invoices validation and provide variance explanation if above tolerance level.
  • Ensure catering invoice is created before month end closing and invoice payment is made within the agreed timeline
  • Work with different teams for price, menu, equipment/logistic and laundry related issue
  • Work with vendor for Catering Planner system related issue.
  • Global discount data collection and follow up.
  • Take up projects as assigned by AM, CFCC & Head of Culinary Excellence when required.
  • Follow all reasonable instructions as directed by AM, CFCC and Head of Culinary Excellence.

  • University education, preferably in business administration and finance related disciplines.
  • A minimum of 3 years' relevant work experience in finance/accounting and related airline industry.
  • Sound numerate & analytical as well budgeting skills.
  • Good command of written and spoken English & Chinese.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good Teamwork and mature character.
  • Sound problem solving skills with an aptitude for planning and organizing.
  • High level of computer literacy and proficiency in MS office application skills,
  • Practical skills on Macros, Project, Cognos, Qlikview, Brio.
