Role Introduction

Reports To: Assistant Manager, Cargo Revenue Operations Research & System

The Cargo Revenue Specialist, Operations Research & System is a key member of the Cargo Revenue Management team. This job holder will drive the revenue management system development to improve decision quality and productivity as well as provide analytic insight to facilitate revenue maximization decision towards more healthy financial contribution to the Cathay Pacific Group.

Key Responsibilities

Design and construction

  • Design and setup the revenue management system and the related decision support tools.
  • Conduct operations research exercises to enhance the revenue management productivity and system performance.
  • Develop and implement data collection systems from primary and secondary sources and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality.
  • Analyse and measure the effectiveness of existing system parameters and forecasting algorithms and develop practical, scalable and quantifiable business improvements.
  • Contribute to other initiatives and projects as subject matter expert that involving revenue management automation.

Implementation and operations

  • Conduct training programs and coaching initiatives to improve readiness of the team.
  • Provide consultative collaboration in order for the business to improve use of systems.
  • Lead the change management program to drive usage improvement.
  • Monitor the performance of the revenue management system and escalate potential disruption situation to the management team.
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure that data from a variety of channels and internal reports are collected and stored to power the revenue management system.
Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in an analytical discipline, such as Business, Science and Engineering.
  • Prefer 3 years of relevant experience. Prior exposure with Lean, process improvement and project management would be an advantage.
  • Advance skill in data management, data mining, BI tools, eg Alteryx, QlikSense, QlikView, SAS, Excel and knowledge in SQL, VBA etc.
  • Proven success in solution development – conduct root cause analysis; influence other stakeholders to implement swift and effective solution.
  • Strong leadership talents – equip with “team player” attitude and spirit, and the natural ability to establish consensus among cross-functional lines.
  • Instinctively numerate – love numbers and, more importantly, curious to understand stories behind numbers and able to drive behavioural improvement through numbers
