Role Introduction

Reports to: E-Platform and Strategic Procurement Manager  

As the Assistant Procurement Manager, you will actively contribute and support the formulation and execution of initiatives for optimizing the end-to-end Procurement process.  You will be working with different stakeholders across the company to optimize the source-to-pay process, enabled by leading cloud-based technology solutions (e.g. Ariba/SAP) and other software vendors.  In this connection, this person is expected to continuously identify and enable potential suppliers and catalogues to ensure complied purchasing activities conducted across the company.

This person will also work with an offshore team and various stakeholders across the company in providing all sort of sourcing and procurement activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the design, implementation and deployment of different strategic projects that will optimize the source-to-pay process
  • Liaise with related stakeholders across all phases of implementation, including requirements gathering, design, build, testing, supplier enablement and change management activities
  • Drive continuous enhancements to previously implemented Ariba modules.  In particular, the Guided Buying solution recently launched globally.  This includes but not limited to:
    • setup of additional catalogs and other compliance enhancements
    • conduct regular spend reviews, fit-gap analysis to identify suitable categories/suppliers.  Thus, carry out sourcing and commercial discussions with identified suppliers
    • support the supplier enablement efforts, this includes being the escalation point for supplier enablement support in implemented regions and working with the implementation team on supplier enablement strategies for enhancements to be implemented
  • Lead an off-shore team of 5 in carrying out sourcing and procurement activities for all categories across the company, such as vendor sourcing, price & commercial terms negotiation, cost analysis, vendor selection & evaluation
  • Work with internal stakeholders to determine specifications and requirements of assigned sourcing projects
  • Ensure the procurement process is in compliance with the internal policies and procedures
  • Analyze spend and finance data to identify trends, patterns and anomalies for escalation to the category managers

  • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration or related disciplines. CIPS qualification is a plus
  • 3+ years of procurement sourcing, procurement operations and/or project management experience
  • In-depth understanding of end-to-end procurement process
  • Solid knowledge / experience in strategic sourcing, commercial & contract management, supplier assessment and selection, and supplier relationship management
  • Good stakeholder management and interpersonal skills is essential
  • Strong communication, analytical, attentional to details and problem-solving skills required
  • Familiar with e-procurement tools development & operations
  • Experience with the e-procurement systems or similar products, including but not limited to SAP, Ariba, Ariba Guided Buying is a plus
  • Working knowledge of P2P process and systems technology will be an advantage
  • Experiences of implementation transformational and change projects is preferred
  • Proficiency and fluency in English
