Assistant Manager, System, Project & Admin

Department: Catering Centre of Excellence

Reports to: Projects, Cost & Admin Manager

Job Summary:

This position will assist in managing key cross departmental catering related projects, support system management of the “Catering Planner” as well as to provide consultation on query tools usage and analytical techniques for driving efficiency.

Key responsibilities:

Project and System Management

  • Assist in the development of business cases for departmental projects
  • Manage key catering and cross departmental projects (e.g. meal pre-order, special meals review, meal wastage review)
  • Act as consultant in system management and business rules maintenance of the “Catering Planner”
  • Act as point of contact for user administration,  technical issues and liaison with vendor support of Catering Planner and other systems
  • Work closely with internal catering stakeholders to set priorities for enhancements and future roadmap of Catering Planner and other systems
  • Support training and oversee access of Catering Planner for internal and external users
  • Participate in business process re-engineering to drive continuous improvement

Data Analysis

  • Prepare statistical information and conduct various data analysis
  • Provide consultation and advice on query tools usage and analytical techniques
  • Provide technical and analytical support to the team

Management of Catering Policies, Procedures and Manuals

  • Assist in the development, control and review of all catering policies, procedures and documents for internal and external use.
  • Develop, update and maintain departmental catering manuals such as Catering Operations Manual (COM), Catering Policy Manual (CPM) and Policy and Procedures Manual (PPM)

Administrative Support

  • Support cross-departmental activities and collaborations such as new ports setup and conduct caterer induction for new ports
  • Coordinate meal ordering activities of all stations
  • Issue notices to relevant working parties when required


  • University Degree, preferably in computer information system or business administration related disciplines
  • Minimum 5 years relevant work experience, preferably in airline-related industry
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Well versed Project Management skills
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making capability
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, good computing and statistical ability
  • Excellent computer skills e.g. Microsoft Office, Macros, Cognos, Qlikview, Brio
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese
