The jobholder is accountable for leading the design and implementation of compensation management process and technology based on Cathay’s new total reward philosophy and framework to ensure a high performance culture across our two airlines. The jobholder will be responsible for responsible for all change management activities in the project portfolio activities. In addition, the jobholder will support the Performance and Reward Manager with other reward projects and other BAU activities including but not limited to benchmarking, annual / off-cycle compensation management cycle, database management, as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with Performance & Reward team, other CoEs and HR Business Partners as required, to design an effective pay-for-performance compensation process, and lead the technology implementation with top-down oversight throughout entire execution to ensure success as defined by adherence to standards of scope, budget, and timeline
  • Develop comprehensive project plan that incorporate the requirements gathered, ensuring alignment with Reward philosophy, global consistency and local compliance
  • Proactively communicate with all involved stakeholders, and coordinate with project team including IT and working group during all project phases, from initial development through implementation
  • Monitor project progress continuously and make detailed scheduled updates on measurable items, such as milestones and deliverables
  • Lead change management activities, including developing multi-media training materials for HR, and line managers
  • Act as subject matter expert for all reward activities across both airlines
  • Lead the development and implementation of compensation management technology in partnership with IT
  • Participate the year-end process; generate reports and analytics to ensure an equitable review process and align with business objectives
  • Support day-to-day total reward tasks, including but not limited to job evaluation, job architecture, salary survey and benchmarking, and other related global / regional rewards projects to ensure effective and consistent organisational application of reward policies


  • Bachelor degree in Human Resources Management / Business Administration or a related discipline
  • 4-5 years’ experience in HR specialising in compensation and benefits, preferably in multinational / multi-geography organisations
  • Project management experience, particularly technology and / or process design projects
  • Change management experience advantageous
  • Experience working with salary surveys and core HRIS and compensation management platforms
  • Well versed with common HR practices and sound knowledge of market-based pay structures, benchmarking methodology and reward analytics 
  • Strong excel skills and experience using statistical modelling software advantageous
  • Strong time management, planning and organising skills
  • Strong numeric and analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
