Assistant Accounting Services Manager – Cargo

Role Introduction

Reports To: Head of Finance, Cargo

This position will serve as a key member of the business partnering team responsible for liaising with the business unit and providing financial analysis and ad hoc support to the Cargo Team (CCM & CSD).

This position is also expected to assist the Head of Finance, Cargo on balance sheet review as well as enhancing internal control.

Key Responsibilities

Financial business partnering to CGO

  • Provide financial advice and support CGO in relation to cost monitoring
  • Assist Head of Finance (Cargo) on strengthen governance and enhancing internal controls
  • Provide guidance and assistance on SAP issues
  • Analyse Cargo performance and perform peer comparison

 

Financial and management reporting

  • Provide CGO with analysis of financial performance through the interpretation of results and explanation of drivers of variance
  • Review monthly financial result and enquire into significant fluctuations from budget. Establish procedures with CGO to provide variance explanations to management
  • Ensure accurate record of AP/AR, perform regular review on balance sheet items and proactively follow up on aged balances
  • Review relevant interim / annual audit schedules in accordance with Hong Kong Accounting Standards and other statutory requirements
  • Perform ad hoc assignments as and when required

 

Budget and Forecasting

  • Provide support to CGO in the preparation of budgeting and forecasting matters
  • Coordinate, consolidate and submit annual budget & corporate forecast for management review
  • Understand the drivers of each budget line item and perform review before submission
  • Assists the Head of Finance (Cargo) on the preparation for ABR / IBR

Leadership / People Management

  • Staff development and ensuring team members are equipped with sufficient knowledge and technique to handle the task assigned. Support the team members to meet the goals. 
Requirements

  • A degree holder in Accounting or related discipline
  • Recognised CPA / Accountancy qualification is required
  • Minimum 6 years' relevant experience of which 3 years' experience in supervisory role. Audit experience with recognised audit firms a definite plus
  • Good analytical mind and problem solving skills
  • Strong skills in MS Office applications, especially in Excel
  • Experience in using SAP advantageous
  • Good command of spoken and written English and Cantonese/Chinese
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to professionally communicate in a multicultural environment
  • Follows applicable financial policies & procedures
  • Takes accountability for executing tasks to a high standard
  • Proactively identifies opportunities to develop beyond responsibilities in own areas
  • A good team player willing to work collaboratively with others
  • Able to work under pressure and being flexible when necessary to meet deadlines
  • Willing to challenge the status quo and improve work processes
